Here’s a story you can’t help but love. Nexxus Salon Hair partnered with the Locks of Love charity for an online makeover contest encouraging women to tell us why they wanted to donate their hair to the charity. The winner, a Brandi Landry, submitted an inspiring story that captured the hearts of the Nexxus Facebook community.
As the contest winner, Brandi recently traveled from Louisiana to New York City for a hair cut and styling session with celebrity stylist and Nexxus Creative Director Kevin Mancuso.

Kristen Bell made waves (pun intended) at this year’s MET Ball in New York City . While the look may appear effortless, it’s anything but.
To complement her form-fitting gown and smoky eye, celebrity stylist Kevin Mancuso created soft, tousled waves for a red-hot, red-carpet look.
Kevin, who has worked with A-list celebs like Sienna Miller, Blake Lively, Naomi Watts and Taylor Swift, offers his tips for recreating Kristen’s style at home:

On last week’s episode of Shear Genius, the stylists were challenged to restyle eight Bridesmaid’s hairdos at a traditional Indian wedding, from the ceremony to reception. The result was the ultimate style transformation, which proves that sometimes, a hairdo change mid-party can be just as dramatic as a full wardrobe change.
LA SPOTLIGHT: The 15-Treatment To Silky, Shiny Hair
Nexxus Creative Director Kevin Mancuso put together four simple steps on how to take down an updo, and rework the hair to create a fun and flirty hairdo, like the winning look from last week’s episode.

-Take down updo by removing bobbi pins and accessories, then gently comb through hair with fingers to help detangle.
-Sweep hair to one side and use bobbi pins to secure in place.
-Us a large barrel curling iron to create random curls throughout loose sections of hair.
-Finish the look with a misting of strong-hold hairspray, like Nexxus Maxximum, to keep the style looking gorgeous.
Tune in to BRAVO on Wednesdays at 10 p.m EST for more winning looks.
