In his first TV appearance since becoming the first sitting U.S. president to declare his support for gay marriage, President Barack Obama appeared on The View Tuesday.

In the pre-taped interview, Obama was asked about his stand versus GOP challenger Mitt Romney. "This is going to be a big contrast in the campaign because you’ve got Governor Romney saying we should actually have a constitutional amendment installing the notion that you can’t have same-sex marriages,” he said, in a preview released by ABC network.

Newsweek's Controversial New Cover: 'The First Gay President'

Posted on May 13, 2012 @ 08:00PM - 13 comments

By Radar Staff

Newsweek on Sunday released the cover of its latest issue, a vibrant spread commemorating President Barack Obama's support of same-sex marriage, picturing the commander-in-chief with a rainbow-colored halo accompanied by the controversial headline, "The First Gay President."

In the cover story, author and gay activist Andrew Sullivan says president's multi-cultural heritage provided a common ground with the gay community, which likely helped him come to his stance on same-sex marriage.

“He had to discover his black identity and then reconcile it with his white family," Sullivan said, "just as gays discover their homosexual identity and then have to reconcile it with their heterosexual family."

Maid In Dominique Strauss-Kahn Sexual Assault Case Breaks Her Silence

Posted on Jul 24, 2011 @ 05:00AM - 2 comments

By Radar Staff

Nafissatou Diallo, the hotel maid who accused Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexually assaulting her, has finally spoken out.

Diallo, 32, a native of Guinea, has accused Strauss-Kahn of a vicious attack inside his Presidential suite at New York's Sofitel hotel on May 14.

In an exclusive interview with Newsweek, Diallo spared no details in describing being forced to orally copulate the former director of the International Monetary Fund.  She said he also grabbed her crotch with such force, she was still red hours later at the hospital, something her medical records support.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn's Mug Shot

Diallo called Strauss-Kahn a "crazed man."  She said she begged him to stop and tried to fight him off before finally escaping after about 15 minutes.

Strauss-Kahn has said he had consensual sex with Diallo. He is not permitted to leave New York City and has had to surrender his passport while the investigation continues.

Top Celebrity Sex Scandals

The case hasn't been easy for prosecutors once they discovered lies in the alleged victim's background.  She claimed two children instead of one on her taxes in order to get an additional deduction. She also exaggerated the story of her life in Guinea in her 2003 application for political asylum in the U.S.   Ironically, her real story -- she was the victim of genital mutilation and rape -- probably would have won her political asylum without any embellishments.

Diallo's credibility was also seriously called into question by two New York Post articles quoting anonymous sources who said she was a prostitute.  Diallo filed a defamation suit against the newspaper on July 5.

Celebrity Mugshots

Diallo has never backed down or away from her account of what she says happened in room 2806 that day.

"Because of him, they call me a prostitute," she told Newsweek. "I want him to go to jail."

Tiger Woods talks about the years of bed-hopping that eventually tarnished his image and ended his marriage -- even implying his mastery of golf might have led him astray -- in an essay published in Newsweek magazine Wednesday, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The essay was published nearly a year after his post-Thanksgiving 2009 fight with ex Elin Nordegren that sparked a tabloid frenzy, with more than a dozen women claiming to have slept with him while he was married.

"The physical pain from that car accident has long healed," Woods wrote. "But the pain in my soul is more complex and unsettling; it has been far more difficult to ease -- and to understand. But this much is obvious now: my life was out of balance, and my priorities were out of order. I made terrible choices and repeated mistakes. I hurt the people whom I loved the most."
