The man at the center of the hacking scandal, which has rocked Rupert Murdoch’s media empire, has claimed that he was instructed to do so by his bosses at The News Of The World.
Private investigator Glenn Mulcaire -- who was jailed in 2007 after he admitted hacking phones to provide information for the now defunct newspaper -- has broken his silence on the scandal.

And to make matters worse Sara Payne had been used as a figurehead by the now defunct News Of The World newspaper to champion their child protection campaign.

To wrap up Tuesday's exhaustive hearing before a parliamentary committee in London, media magnate Rupert Murdoch -- calling the proceedings "the most humble day of [his] career" -- delivered a closing statement that reflected emotion, regret and partial acknowledgement of wrongdoing.
"With your permission, I would like to read a short statement," Murdoch, 80, said. "My son and I have come here with great respect for all of you, for Parliament and for the people of Britain whom you represent.
"This is the most humble day of my career.
