Emmy-Nominated David Letterman Extortionist Won't Attend Awards

Ex-CBS producer Robert "Joe" Halderman is not expected to attend Monday's News and Documentary Emmy Awards in New York's Lincoln Center, where’s he up for an award, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Ex-CBS producer Robert "Joe" Halderman is not expected to attend Monday's News and Documentary Emmy Awards in New York's Lincoln Center, where’s he up for an award, RadarOnline.com has learned.

"He's not doing any interviews and just wants to return to a quiet and productive life," his attorney Gerald Shargel told the Hollywood Reporter of Halderman, who’s nominated with three other producers for a 48 Hours story about American exchange student Amanda Knox, who was convicted on murder charges in Italy.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Halderman was released from prison in New York earlier this month after serving four months for his admitted $2 million extortion attempt targeted at late night funnyman David Letterman last fall.
