LL Cool J hit the 2011 NAACP Image Awards on Friday and RadarOnline's Jessica Campbell scored an exclusive interview with the NCIS: Los Angeles star backstage at the Celebrity Retreat.
We wanted to know how he'd deal with "what's happening" with Lindsay Loha and Charlie Sheen, and he politely suggested that they've brought it on themselves by letting their emotions get the better of them.

Friday was a beautiful sunny day in L.A. and the perfect back drop for 2011 NAACP Image Awards. In true Hollywood fashion celebrities came from all over to honor the achievements of people of color in all walks of life.
RadarOnline.com's Jessica Campbell was on hand to ask a temptingly taboo question. "With all the controversy and attention swirling around Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan, do you think the situation would be different if this kind of controversy was surrounding a person of color?"

Julianne Malveaux smartly asserts, "How many passes has Charlie Sheen gotten? Do you think an African American man would get as many passes? Try one. The fact is race still matters. We know it matters."
"As a person of color we probably wouldn't get that much media attention plus I know a couple of guys like Charlie Sheen right now in Chicago," laughs film producer George Tillman Jr.

Vanessa Bell Calloway sassily expressed, "There job would have been gone. We wouldn't be listening to Charlie's rants 'cause the first time he has a little whore, prostitute, whatever drug...the person would have been fired!"

The red carpet was a sea of celebs at the Shrine Auditorium for the 2011 NAACP Image Awards Friday, and RadarOnline.com's Jessica Campbell was front and center to chat to with Hollywood's top stars.

"Listen to your parents...not the time to get the big head...time to work harder," gospel singer Brian Courtney Wilson tells RadarOnline.com.

The 41st NAACP Image Awards descended on Los Angeles on Friday night, bringing a parade of this awards season's biggest names along with a plethora of photo-ready celebrities.

By the afternoon, the red carpet outside of the Shrine Auditorium was filled with A-listers from music, television, and film.
Lenny Kravitz, who showed some acting chops as a male nurse in Precious, was his usual dashing self in a black, form-fitting suit. Topping off his rock star looks? Sunglasses, of course. Fellow crooner John Legend made quite the splash in a bold, velvet ensemble.

Teen queen Selena Gomez was shimmering perfection in a strapless, white floor-length gown. In fact, many ladies seemed to favor a lighter hue. Gabrielle Union glitzed-up her white frock with sparkles, as did Tatyana Ali who opted for a glittering and long body-hugging dress.

However, there were some bold swaths of color. The View co-host Sherri Shepherd and Garcelle Beauvais both went for outfits in the same bright blue! Talk about a red carpet showdown!

The 41st NAACP Image Awards will air on Fox next spring, the network announced Thursday.
“We are thrilled to partner with FOX once again on the live broadcast” executive producer Vicangelo Bulluck told RadarOnline.com. “The NAACP is looking forward to celebrating this time of change with viewers by showcasing some of the greatest talents of our time.”
