It seems that all the superstars who warned Angelinos to stay off the roads this weekend had an impact -- the dreaded Carmageddon has failed to materialize.
With 10 miles of the 405 Freeway -- the country's busiest road -- closed for the demolition of the Mulholland Drive overpass, there had been dire warnings about where the 500,000 drivers who use that stretch of road every weekend would turn.

Detectives say they DO NOT think that the Two and a Half Men star is responsible for trashing his own car for the second time in four months, RadarOnline.com has learned.

However, they do think the same people may have been involved in both incidents.
The troubled actor’s silver Mercedes-Benz was found abandoned down a ravine on Tuesday off Los Angeles’ Mulholland Drive with the engine still running.
A similar occurrence happened in the wee hours of February 5, 2010, when the actor reported his four-door Mercedes stolen and officials found it - at the bottom of a 100-foot cliff in Sherman Oaks, California.

Nobody was inside the latest abandoned car, which is believed to have been taken from the star’s home in the nearby gated Mulholland Estates.
A police source told RadarOnline.com: “We still have a few leads that we are chasing but we do not believe that Mr. Sheen was involved – he was the victim.

“We have not ruled-out that the same people could have been involved,” the source says.
News of the Mercedes joy ride has neighbors in the wealthy gated community re-thinking their own car security.

One told RadarOnline.com: “The whole incident is questionable to say the least – it’s a real stretch that two cars were stolen from the same location – something is definitely going-on.
“Everybody is making sure that their own cars are secure and that the alarms are on at all times now – nobody wants their car to end-up at the bottom of a ravine.

The latest car-off-the-cliff fiasco is just another headache for the embattled actor, whose name has been a tabloid mainstay since he was arrested on Christmas Day 2009 in Aspen, Colorado on domestic violence charges.

He is still working out a plea deal and it will likely include Charlie going to jail. Sheen was formally charged with felony menacing and two misdemeanors: 3rd degree assault and criminal mischief, in connection with his alleged Christmas Day assault on third wife Brooke Mueller, who was also present for the hearing

Mueller told police that Sheen threatened to killer her and held a knife to her throat as their argument escalated. Both had been drinking and had alcohol in their bodies at 8:30 am.

On Monday, lawyers for the couple requested that Judge James Boyd relax the protective order that prohibits any contact between them. That request was granted with the provision that Sheen stays away from owning or handling any firearms and does not consume alcohol. Sheen has been through rehab twice but has not publicly addressed the fact that he was drinking on Christmas when Brooke called 911. As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported, Sheen had a sober coach with him at the time, but consumed alcohol anyway.

Brooke recently left rehab treatment at Two Dreams Outer Banks in North Carolina. She flew to North Carolina after being hospitalized in Los Angeles for pneumonia. While in the hospital, her friends tried to bring her illegal drugs, and people close to her urged her to go into rehab. Her lawyer has denied that she was in rehab but multiple sources with direct knowledge of the situation have confirmed it to RadarOnline.com.

Meanwhile, Sheen's black Mercedes was stolen from his Los Angeles home on February 5 and then driven off of a nearby cliff on Mulholland Drive.
Mueller was not wearing her wedding ring in court Monday. Charlie was wearing his ring. Sources tell RadarOnline.com that Charlie is terrified Brooke will help prosecutors put him behind bars and Team Sheen has communicated that if that scenario unfolds Mueller will lose a lot of money, because she has a restrictive prenuptial agreement.

It was revealed in court that Mueller had attended Response, a battered women’s shelter in Aspen Colorado.
At the end of the hearing Charlie and Brooke hugged each other before leaving separately.
Sheen's next court appearance is scheduled for March 15th.

Brooke Mueller’s brother spoke to RadarOnline.com exclusively, revealing that while his sister is in "better spirits" as she prepares to head into court Monday he remains unsure whether her marriage to Charlie Sheen is the best thing for her.

"It was nice to have police come to my house and for once and I didn't have to leave with them," he told The Insider.

The Two and a Half Men star told The Insider he worked Thursday until 8 p.m. before going to bed at 10:30 p.m. He said he was woken up by a call from his auto security company, OnStar, that his car had been in an accident. He said he peered out his window of his Mulholland Estates home to see the car was missing.
