While most of the entertainment world has chimed in with their thoughts on Kanye West’s hijacking of Taylor Swift’s speech at the MTV Video Music Awards, the muse for his tirade Beyonce Knowles has kept silent… until now.

"Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he's like, 'You have this award,'" Beyoncé told O: The Oprah Magazine editor Gayle King. "And when they didn't call my name he was, like, completely shocked. And when he walked on the stage, I was like, 'No, no, no!' and then he spoke, and I was like, 'Oh, no, no, no!'”

Knowles, who immediately reached out to Swift and later gave her the stage so she could finally say a public thanks to her supporters, was happy to relinquish the limelight to her fellow singer. "But in the end, it ended up being a great night, and Taylor Swift did get her moment — and I didn't have to make an acceptance speech."

Twilight’s Robert Pattinson puts a protective arm around co-star and rumored love Kristen Stewart backstage at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night in New York with Taylor Lautner at their side.
The three young stars took a break from filming Eclipse, the third film in the Twilight saga, currently in production in Vancouver, British Columbia, to attend the star-studded music event.

After a week of anticipation, Janet Jackson took to the stage of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards to pay tribute to her late brother Michael Jackson.
"There is no question that Michael Jackson is one of the greatest talents the world has ever known," said Madonna, who introduced a massive performance montage of Jackson's greatest hits.
Dancers performed classic moves from the "Thriller," "Smooth Criminal," and "Bad" clips.
Janet emerged and, in a powerful pairing of she and Michael's superimposed image, performed their duet "Scream," for one last time.
