Amy Winehouse's death at 27 was the result of a massive alcohol binge, London-based coroner Suzanne Greenaway said Wednesday, dubbing the Rehab singer's untimely demise "death by misadventure."

Winehouse’s parents were at Wednesday’s inquest hearing in London, and were relieved "to finally find out what happened to Amy," Winehouse family spokesman Chris Goodman said.

To mark the occasion,  Body and Soul -- the haunting song  Winehouse recorded as a duet with Tony Bennett
only a few months before her death  -- is being released today. Proceeds from the song will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, established by her family. The foundation is officially being launched today.

Meanwhile, in a new interview with the Associated Press, Amy’s father says his crusade to get her off drugs often turned physical, as he fought with those who were supplying his daughter with narcotics.

Amy Winehouse's father Mitch Winehouse said he went "numb" the moment he was told his 27-year-old daughter had died.

Mitch, 60, had just arrived in New York City July 24 when he got a call from Amy's security guard informing him of the tragic news.

"I was in New York when I found out," Mitch told The Sun. "I was at my cousin's [home,] cuddling his newborn babies. He had just been asking me how Amy was. I said she was fine -- then my phone rang.

Mitch Winehouse says his troubled daughter Amy was “full of love” and he would give her "a cuddle" if she were still alive to show her how much she herself was loved.

The former taxi driver is still mourning the passing of the Rehab singer -- who died in July at the age of 27 -- although he has been comforted by the outpouring of praise for her by her fans and the public.

Mitch Winehouse says his troubled daughter Amy was “full of love” and he would give her "a cuddle" if she were still alive to show her how much she herself was loved.

The premiere episode of Anderson Cooper's new talk show will welcome Amy Winehouse's family and boyfriend in their first interview since her death, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The CNN host will sit down with the late singer's parents, Mitch and Janis, brother, Alex, and boyfriend Reg Traviss, for the premiere episode of his new talk show, Anderson, which launches on September 12 and will be nationally syndicated, reported the Hollywood Reporter.

This will be the first interview with Winehouse's family since she was found dead in her London home on July 23 at the age of 27.

"Results indicate that alcohol was present, but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death.

Plans for The Amy Winehouse Foundation have been delayed because someone else has already registered the name, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Mitch Winehouse had planned to set-up the charity in memory of his late daughter – who was found dead at her London home last month aged just 27 – to help young addicts, but has had to postpone establishing the organization after hitting a problem with the registration.

Mitch said: "Somebody else pinched it off of us before we could get it registered. All these donations which are coming in - we don't know what to do with them at the moment.
