Carrie Underwood garnered five nominations, while Miranda Lambert racked up four, as the 11th annual 2012 CMT Award Nominations were announced on the TODAY show Monday.
Other notable artists up for honors include The Voice's Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum, all with three nods apiece.

The country cutie hit the KCA on Saturday in a totally sexy Old Hollywood glam Maria Lucia Hohan halter bustier dress, which she perfectly paired with Nicholas Kirkwood metallic sandals and Lorraine Schwartz bling. She followed it up on Sunday at the ACMs, dominating the country crowd in a white and gold J. Mendel gown that featured cutout sides, paired with Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz bling again.
Did Jada Pinkett Smith get styled by Willow for the Kids’ Choice Awards? The actress clearly was trying to fit in with the youthful crowd, wearing a hot pink Catherine Malandrino jumpsuit with a denim jacket and chunky wedges. And how about that hair?

Taylor Swift was crowned entertainer of the year for the second straight year at Sunday's 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, and in her acceptance speech, she gave a shout-out to an ailing fan, Kevin McGuire, a high school football player fighting cancer who she invited to the awards before he was hospitalized Friday.
"Thank you so much to the fans who voted for this,” the 22-year-old, looking gorgeous, said in her acceptance speech. “I am so happy about this! I want to say to my fellow nominees in this category (They were: Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney). I respect you so much and I love you.

The Voice star Blake Shelton felt the full fury of the voice of his jealous wife, Miranda Lambert, when the country music duo attended the Grammys. An insider tells Star that Miranda closely watched handsome hubby Blake during the Feb. 12 awards ceremony at the Staples Center in L.A. — and when he got chatty with hot pop superstars Lady Gaga and Rihanna, it infuriated her.
"Miranda is extremely jealous and possessive of Blake, and she got very rude when they met Gaga at the awards," says the insider. "When Blake went to sit beside her, Miranda basically pushed him over so she could sit between them.
"And when he tried to lean across to engage Gaga in conversation, Miranda snarled under her breath, 'Don't even think about it!' She was shooting dirty looks at Gaga the whole evening."

The R&B singer's official Twitter feed lashed out at critics who had slammed the Grammys for honoring him during Sunday's awards show, and had bitter words for those bashing him.
