Kill Bill star Michael Madsen was taken to a London area hospital earlier this month after being found unconscious at his hotel, RadarOnline.com has confirmed.

And now one of the actor/poet's closest friends is telling RadarOnline.com exclusively that Michael "needs to get to rehab."
"He is a great guy and a great artist and like most artists, a little crazy," the friend adds.
"He has had this problem in the past and it is probably time for him to get help."
Madsen, who shot to fame in the classic film Reservoir Dogs, was in the U.K. to make a low-budget horror flick.
He had been on a nine day booze binge that had brought complaints from other hotel guests.
"When he was found slumped on the doorstep it was hardly a surprise," a hotel eyewitness told the London Sun.

Michael, brother of actress Virginia Madsen, was transported to Royal Cornwall Hospital but not before trying to jump out of the ambulance.
The incident is sadly not the first for Madsen who has earned the reputation as a Hollywood hellraiser in recent years. He was hospitalized in 2008, also in the UK, after a loud fight with his wife.

Madsen returned to his Los Angeles area home on Friday.

All of the finest from the entertainment world of music gathered Sunday at Los Angeles' Staples Center for the highly anticipated 52nd annual Grammy Awards.
But one A-lister that won't be spotted on the star studded red carpet or sipping champagne during the live broadcast ceremony is Hollywood hell raiser Michael Madsen - despite being a nominee.
A source close to the Thelma and Louise actor tells RadarOnline.com exclusively that Madsen has been snubbed by the Grammys - so much so that he didn't even know he was nominated for one until a friend called him to congratulate him after the nominations were announced to the public!
Madsen, who is nominated in the Best Spoken Word category, for his work on The Maltese Falcon, had no idea he was a nominee but after finding out decided he wanted to attend. But when his publicist called award show organizers to arrange it they were told there was no ticket available for him and that he would have to buy one himself and sit with the general public!
"Michael is not happy about it," says the source. "First off to not even be told he is nominated, then to be told he has to buy his own ticket, it's like a major snub.
"Needless to say he won't be attending, or watching on the TV!"
David Carradine Laid to Rest In Los Angeles

Kung Fu star David Carradine was laid to rest on Saturday evening, with a memorial attended by hundreds at Burbank, CA's Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In what one source told RadarOnline.com was a "celebration of life," the Hollywood community joined people from all walks of life in remembering the Kung Fu star.
During a three-hour ceremony kicking off at 5:45 p.m., a large crowd gathered to remember the actor who died weeks ago in a Thai hotel room.

David Carradine’s widow surfaced for the first time today since her husband was found dead in a Bangkok hotel.
Annie Bierman was spotted leaving the couple’s home in Tarzana, Ca. today, in what looked-like an unmarked police car just around 11.30am toda
Bierman – who became Carradine’s fifth wife in 2004 after they wed at Michael Madsen’s Malibu home – looked pale and and kept her head down as she was driven from her estate.

Her car ran a red light to avoid paparazzi chasing the vehicle. Two bodyguards in black suits kept watch at the main gate of the property to preserve the her privacy.
One of the guard’s told RadarOnline.com that the family is "doing well" in the circumstances but that it was too early for them to comment on Carradine’s death.
A friend delivered some food for them while a pest control inspector visited the large home, set back off the residential street.
Neighbor Joe Siracusa told Radar Online.com of his shock at his friend’s death and how he was in "good spirits" when he last spoke with him.
