Dr. Paul White, a defense expert in the Michael Jackson death trial, admitted in court on Thursday to giving Propofol orally to 'animals', RadarOnline.com is reporting.

Dr. Conrad Murray has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the King of Pop's death.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Dr. Conrad Murray's defense team commissioned a study on Beagle dogs to determine how much Propofol would have to be orally ingested to cause Michael Jackson's death. The defense was forced to abandon that theory after tests proved it would be impossible for someone to die from orally ingesting Propofol.

Dr. Conrad Murray's defense team will be calling an LAPD detective that will testify that on the day Michael Jackson died, the embattled cardiologist never revealed that he had given the King of Pop Propofol, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

The prosecution rested their case on Monday morning with their final witness Dr. Steven Shafer, and now it’s the defense’s time to build a case of innocence for their beleaguered client — and first up, LAPD Detective Porsche.

Detective Porsche will tell jurors that Dr. Murray did admit to giving Jackson a sedative, but not to administering the powerful anesthetic Propofol.

"Ed didn't like the way Michael was handling the prosecution witnesses. Ed felt that Michael was too abrasive and caustic with his questioning, and that Michael allowed witnesses to clarify points that only helped the prosecution's case. Things were getting very tense, and he's moved into a hotel in Santa Monica," a source close to Dr. Murray tells RadarOnline.com exclusively.

At Murray's preliminary hearing earlier this year, his lawyers asserted that the King of Pop swallowed Propofol, and this is what caused his death.

However, in a dramatic turnaround, attorney Michael Flanagan told Los Angeles Judge Michael Pastor on Wednesday outside the presence of the jury, that they wouldn't be pursuing the theory that Jackson had ingested Propofol.

Dr. Conrad Murray's legal team disagrees with the finding that Michael Jackson died of acute Propofol intoxication and will tell jurors when they present their case that the King of Pop died of a Lorazepam overdose, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

"This case isn't about Propofol, Michael Jackson didn't die from that. He died because of extremely high level of Lorazepam found in his body,” a source close to Dr. Murray tells RadarOnline.com.

“The defense whole heartedly disagrees with the findings of the coroner that Michael Jackson died of acute Propofol intoxication. Michael Jackson's death certificate lists acute Propofol intoxication as the official cause of death, with other contributing factors of death: benzodiazepine effect. The benzodiazepine is Lorazepam," the source adds.

By Radar Staff

In court Wednesday, Dr. Conrad Murray's legal team dropped the claim that Michael Jackson accidentally killed himself by orally self-administering the powerful anesthetic Propofol.

The medic has denied all charges relating to the involuntary manslaughter of the Thriller hitmaker - for which he is currently on trial - but despite initially claiming that Michael swallowed the fatal dose of the drug which killed him, Dr. Murray's legal team have now accepted this is not possible.

Lawyer Michael Flanagan explained to the judge and Deputy District Attorney David Walgren that after commissioning a study which showed the effect of swallowing the drug would be "trivial" it was decided that: "We are not going to assert at any time during this trial that Michael Jackson orally administered Propofol."
