Madonna’s MDNA has been a record-setting failure, and the legendary producer William Orbit says he knows why.

During a spirited debate with fans on his Facebook page, Orbit gave two fascinating insights into the album’s genesis.

He told the Madonna faithful that the best songs written for the 53-year-old pop icon’s album went to hip hop bad boy Chris Brown.

And he admitted that they were strapped for time thanks to the Material Girl’s commitments to her merchandising empire.

She’s directed a movie, recorded a new album and performed at the Super Bowl -- all within the last few months. So it’s not bragging when Madonna says: “Sometimes I think I’m Superwoman.”

In a new interview with a British magazine, Madonna opened up about her hectic work and personal life admitting that she’s “grumpy” from non-stop work and that she’s skimped on promoting her new album MDNA to spend more time with her children.

With numbers still being finalized, it appears that the Material Girl has become immaterial to listeners, evidenced by an 88 percent crash from week one to week two of sales.

Madonna is denying she made a veiled reference to the illegal drug MDMA (street name: Ecstasy) during her appearance at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival over the weekend, when she asked the concertgoers, "How many people in this crowd have seen Molly?"

With “Molly” being an underground term for the illegal drug, many were upset that the 53-year-old music icon would seemingly promote self-destructive behavior to her massive fan base.

Madonna let it all hang out during an appearance at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival over the weekend, wearing a skimpy ensemble that exposed her behind, as she joined DJ Avicii for his set.

"I've been here in spirit for many years, but it's good to finally be standing on the stage, looking at all you people who have come here from all around the world," the 53-year-old pop icon said. "In my world, the words music and dance are not separated.

Like her or not, Madonna got people talking with her 12-minute medley during Sunday's Super Bowl halftime show, which featured cameos by LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. and Cee Lo Green.

Jon Pareles of The New York Times pointed out that while Madonna might not be the spry singer-dancer of the 80s and 90s, she made up for it with star power and showmanship.
