Cancer Sufferer’s Photos Banned By Facebook For Being ‘Pornographic’

The negativity surrounding Facebook escalated Tuesday when it was revealed that the social networking site banned a breast cancer survivor’s mastectomy photos because they were considered "too pornographic."

Joanne Jackson, 40, of Thornhill, West Yorkshire in England, posted the graphic images as an inspirational message to celebrate her combating the deadly disease, but Facebook removed pictures showing her operation scar because administrators thought they were offensive, reported the Mail Online.

The negativity surrounding Facebook escalated Tuesday when it was revealed that the social networking site banned a breast cancer survivor’s mastectomy photos because they were considered "too pornographic."

The married mother-of-two was then warned that if she stepped out of line again and committed further “abusive” breaches of the site’s rules then her account would be shut down.

Last October when Giulana Rancic bravely went public with her diagnosis of breast cancer, she inspired one high-profile celeb to have her first-ever mammogram.

had just turned 40 when her friend Giulana revealed her cancer. "I booked a mammogram" right away, Burke-Charvet told Prevention.

"I called her from the doctor's office and said, 'Thank you for provoking me to have this done'," the Dancing with the Stars co-host recalled.

Brooke also laughed about the anxiety she had before the exam.  "When I was finished, I said to the nurse, 'What's the big deal? There's so much negative talk about the mammogram.' The biggest thing was scheduling my day to get there. The actual appointment was a piece of cake."

But, hubby Bill Rancic need not get jealous, as the 37-year-old E! host is referring to him!

Giuliana Rancic is having a double mastectomy next Tuesday and behind her strong and cheerful demeanor, she admitted exclusively to RadarOnline.com that she is "scared" about the surgery, but she adds, “I am going to survive.”

"I think I'm definitely scared of the unknown," Giuliana,37,said about her upcoming breast cancer surgery.  "I'm scared because I've never done this before, but I have Bill with me," she said about her husband who was with her at our interview at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles Thursday.

The duo said they draw strength from each other, but that what really helps them is looking forward to the future without cancer.

She makes us laugh with her cheeky antics of HBO’s monster hit Curb Your Enthusiasm, but now Wanda Sykes is making headlines for a far more serious matter. The  47-year-old just revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy, in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, set to air Monday.

Cindy Geoghegan from the Y-Me.Org National Breast Cancer Organization has praised the actress/comedienne for going public with her battle, hailing it as an “act of heroism.”

“We are so grateful that Wanda has gone public with the news of her cancer. Breast cancer is a very personal thing and most people don't come forward, so it was really an act of heroism,” Cindy said in an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com. “It raises awareness and sends a message to the public, ‘If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone.’”
