Los Angeles Dodgers fans breathed a joint sigh of relief when it was announced on Tuesday night that a group led by NBA legend Magic Johnson is buying the down-on-their-luck franchise for a whopping $2 billion.

The announcement of the sale from former owner Frank McCourt ended months of uncertainty over the team’s future after he filed bankruptcy last year in the wake of a bitter divorce.

Stars Hold A Minute Of Silence For Whitney Houston At Pre-Grammy Dinner

Whitney Houston was honored at a special Pre-Grammy dinner at Mr. C hotel in Beverly Hills Saturday night where a minute of silence was held for guests to pay their respects.

The gathering was hosted by LL Cool J
, who will be at the helm of proceedings at the music awards show Sunday, and came just hours after the 48-year-old singer died.

Other celebrities who attended included football star Tim Tebow, Magic Johnson, Mark Burnett, Rob Lowe, Zac Efron and Billy Ray Cyrus.

The NBA lockout is over but it's not all good news for the Los Angeles Lakers organization as the heir apparent to the country's most famous team was arrested for being drunk in public, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Jesse Buss, the son of owner Jerry Buss, was taken into custody for alcohol intoxication in the early hours of Friday morning in Lexington, Kentucky, after officers received a call about a man laying on the ground in a downtown street, reported WDRB.com.

The 23-year-old was released on bond but not before demanding special treatment on the grounds of his VIP parentage and him being the expected future leader of Kobe Bryant's championship team.

The 12-time NBA All-Star, now 52, shocked the world during a news conference at the then-Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles November 7, 1991, announcing his abrupt retirement from a Hall of Fame career after testing positive for the HIV virus.

"Because of the HIV virus that I have obtained," Johnson said, "I will have to retire from the Lakers today ... I just wanna make clear I do not have the AIDS disease, but the HIV virus ... this is not like my life is over, because it's not. I'm going to live on.

Federal law enforcement authorities discovered that two men they claim are masterminds behind the criminal operation are business associates and friends of the Oscar winning actor and pop star.

Jamie Foxx, Lady Gaga and Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson are caught up in a scandal surrounding a multimillion-dollar international drug cartel, Star has learned exclusively.

Federal law enforcement authorities discovered that two men they claim are masterminds behind the criminal operation are business associates and friends of the Oscar winning actor and pop star.

Foxx found himself unwittingly associated with a massive drug bust after his pal Warren Braithwaite was arrested in a five-state Drug Enforcement Agency sting that dismantled a drug ring responsible for the distribution of thousands of pounds of marijuana.
