The man accused in the shocking murder and dismemberment of a 8-year-old Hasidic boy has been ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation and has been placed on suicide watch.

A judge in New York ordered the psych exam during an arraignment hearing Thursday for Levi Aron, 35, charged with second degree murder and kidnapping in the killing of Leiby Kletzky.

As young Leiby Kleztky was laid to rest Wednesday night, New York police charged a man with the dismemberment murder of the 8-year-old Hasidic boy.

Authorities say the suspect -- Levi Aron, 35, -- was charged late Wednesday with second degree murder for the gruesome killing that has shocked not only New York, but the entire country.

At a news conference Wednesday, New York Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said Aron made statements implicating himself in the death of Kleztky, a member of the close-knit Orthodox Jewish community in the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn.

The suspect who was arrested for the horrifying murder of an 8-year-old boy in Brooklyn was identified by police who said he “panicked,” and then killed the boy.

Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said Levi Aron, 35, was arrested for the murder of the young child.  “He panicked, and that is why he killed the boy,” Kelly said on Wednesday.
