In honor of what would have been Les Paul's 96th birthday Wednesday, the web giant morphed their logo into a guitar -- and it plays!

Even better, you can record your riffs with a small feature at the bottom.

And for all you tech geeks out there, the web innovators even gave the recipe for the guitar in a blog: "If you’re curious, the doodle was made with a combination of JavaScript, HTML5 Canvas (used in modern browsers to draw the guitar strings), CSS, Flash (for sound) and tools like the Google Font API, goo.gl and App Engine."

Guitar Genius Les Paul Dead At Age Of 94

The legendary Les Paul -- the Grammy award winning artist who invented the solid-body electric guitar later played by some of the greatest names in  rock 'n roll -- died Thursday of complications from pneumonia at the age of 94.

Paul passed away at White Plains Hospital with his family and friends were by his side.

The use of electric guitar gained popularity in the mid-to-late 1940s, and then exploded with the advent of rock in  the 1950s.
