Amber Portwood is vowing to turn her life around since being released from jail on February 24, and first on the agenda is regaining custody of her daughter, Leah.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Amber’s ex-boyfriend Gary Shirley has full custody of the couple’s 3-year-old, following the troubled Teen Mom star’s several brushes with the law and hospitalization after a suicide attempt.

After a two month stint in a Malibu rehab center, Amber Portwood is back on mommy duty after touching back down in her hometown of Anderson, Indiana.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the troubled Teen Mom star checked into the facility after attempting suicide in June.

She sought treatment for "anger control issues and depression," she told Star magazine in an exclusive interview.

Amber now seems determined to get her life back on track starting with rebuilding her relationship with her daughter, Leah.

Portwood's on-again/off-again boyfriend, her baby daddy Gary Shirley currently has sole custody of their daughter but the reality TV mom is allowed visitation and was able to spend time with her as she ran errands on Sunday.

Despite her efforts to be a better mom, Jeff Lockwood, Shirley's attorney, believes Portwood, 21, may not be able to reestablish primary custody of the two-year-old.

"I think custody will go to Gary," he told Star Magazine before adding that to regain the court's trust she would have to be "able to maintain a clean track record."

Teen Mom star Amber Portwood has checked out of rehab and RadarOnline.com has photos of the troubled girl looking healthy and relaxed as she flies out of Los Angeles.

Looking tan, Portwood wore a summery pink and black flowered dress as she arrived at LAX to head home to Anderson, Indiana.

The 21-year-old spent the past two months at the Seasons Recovery Center in Malibu where she checked into after attempting suicide by hanging herself in June.

Portwood and her ex-boyfriend Gary Shirley have had a nasty custody battle over their daughter, Leah, and his attorney has said he believes Amber will lose permanent custody of the 2-year-old.

A source close to Portwood has said she plans to spend time with her brother at his home in Tennessee and is considering moving to the Southern state.

Amber Portwood -- who is currently in a Malibu, C.A. rehab facility following a suicide attempt -- is set to lose custody permanently of her daughter Leah, to her father, Gary Shirley, his lawyer has revealed in an exclusive interview with Star Magazine.

The lawyer tells the magazine -- which is on stands Wednesday -- that he believes Gary’s temporary custody of little Leah is going to be made permanent.

“I think custody will go to Gary,” his attorney, Jeff Lockwood, tells Star. To regain custody Amber would need to be “able to maintain a clean track record,” Lockwood revealed.

Teen Mom reality star Amber Portwood's brother has slammed MTV for the latest portrayal of his troubled sister, and showing her daughter Leah playing with Gary's condoms.

Shawn Portwood wrote a defense of his sister in a recent blog post.  In last week's episode of Teen Mom Leah is shown playing with her dad Gary Shirley's condoms, and Shawn takes issue with the way the producers portray his sister, calling MTV "spineless soulless individuals" in the rant.

"First, I would like to congratulate Teen Mom star Gary Shirley for doing something that he should have been doing for a while now, wearing condoms!  Second, my hat goes off to you MTV for getting a close up of the Trojan Magnums seen around the world," Shawn wrote on his blog.

The 24-year-old father appeared in the Anderson County Circuit courthouse Thursday morning where a judge granted him a hardship driver’s license that will allow him to be able to drive again, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Gary had his driver’s license suspended last November after receiving a seatbelt violation and driving while uninsured.

But that didn’t stop Gary from driving and he was arrested on May 24, 2011 on a Class A misdemeanor for driving with a suspended license.

“The judge’s signed order now has to be approved by the Anderson DMV, which is expected to happen within the next week or so,” Gary’s attorney, Jeff Lockwood, told RadarOnline.com.

In the wake of her shocking suicide attempt nine days earlier, Amber Portwood had an emotional reunion with her two-year-old daughter, Leah, outside her Anderson, Ind., home on the morning of June 23, Star can report via RadarOnline.com.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Amber’s baby daddy, Gary Shirley, has physical custody of Leah, and Amber is supposed to have supervised visitation with their daughter one day a week for two hours.

An eyewitness tells Star, “Maybe there was an official from Child Protective Services inside her house, but I didn’t see anyone else outside with Amber and Leah except someone who looked like an MTV cameraman!”

The 21-year-old mother had a review of the custody arrangements set forth by Child Protective Services between her and baby daddy Gary Shirley on Wednesday and no changes were made, even though Portwood was released just one week prior from a 72-hour psych hold at St. Johns Hospital in Indiana after her attempted suicide.

“There were no changes and they did not mention Amber’s suicide attempt during the hearing,” Gary’s attorney, Jeff Lockwood, told RadarOnline.com.

“If she goes into the rehab program she can be re-evaluated for custody of Leah, but CPS will have to monitor how the treatment goes.”
