As RadarOnline.com was the first to report Balloon Boy dad, Richard Heene, was set to be released from prison this weekend to enter into a 60 day work release program.

Balloon Boy dad Richard Heene could be released from jail this week because the prison he is staying at is almost full to capacity, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.

RadarOnline.com broke the news that the former reality star would be released six days early from his original thirty day sentence at Larimer County Detention Center in Colorado if he behaved himself – Heene started his sentence on January 11, 2010.

But now we understand that date could be pushed forward further meaning that the notorious prankster could be back on the streets sooner.

Lt Pat McCosh told RadarOnline.com: “He could get out this week if the courts accept everything.

Richard Heene Visited In Jail By Wife

“Our daily computations are very high right now and his behavior has been excellent to date, so, he may qualify for an early release program.

“Mr Heene has been very respectful to the prison officers and he has been really keeping to himself as far as the other inmates are concerned.

“There have been absolutely no problems with him and if this continues then he could qualify for an early release.”

Richard Heene, whose flying saucer balloon received national attention when it was thought his six-year-old son was inside, had been sentenced to 30 days in jail and another 60 days on work release program.

Richard's wife Mayumi received four years probation and was sentenced to 20 days in jail.

Their son, Falcon, was in their home while his parents told police and others he was missing, leading everyone to think the child was in the runaway balloon.

The husband and wife have already been hit with a $42,000 bill from local, state and federal agencies for their October stunt when they claimed their six-year-old son had crawled into a hot air balloon in their back yard and been whisked away into the sky.

Balloon boy dad Richard Heene was visited by his wife Mayumi for the first time in jail over the weekend, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.

The infamous reality dad is serving a 30-day stretch at Larimer County Detention Center in Fort Collins, Clorado, for masterminding the elaborate balloon hoax involving his son Falcon.

Heene is sharing a 12 ft by 5ft cell with another inmate among the general prison population at the 557 beds facility which housed over 10,000 inmates each year.

Balloon Boy dad Richard Heene has a new sleeping partner RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal.

Heene has been moved in to the general prison population after successfully completing his observation period. Lt. Pat McCosh told RadarOnline.com, “Mr Heene passed all his observational tests successfully and has now moved into the general population where he is currently sharing a cell with another inmate – I cannot reveal why his cell mate is here.

Heene entered the Larimer County Detention Center in Colorado on Monday to start his 30 day jail sentence – which will be cut by six days if he behaves himself.

The notorious reality dad is the most famous face at the detention center and is being watched by deputies just in case there is any trouble with other inmates.

“So far, there have not been any problems and everything has gone smoothly and we don’t anticipate any difficulties either,” McCosh told RadarOnline.com. “Mr Heene’s wife will be able to apply to see him next week and she will be able to bring along their three sons too.

“If they visit him it will be done through a glass screen and she will have to formally apply to come and see him.

And he has almost completed his 72 hours observation period which will see him being released into the general prison population tomorrow.

Lt. Pat McCosh exclusively told RadarOnline.com: “He has two days mandated and could get a further four days as part of our inmate labor force if he behaves himself appropriately.

“His observational process has gone well and the prison staff will meet later today to make a final assessment but it looks like he will enter the general population where he will most likely share a cell with another inmate.

“Mr Heene will then be able to apply for recreational programs like the other inmates where he can play basketball or play ping-pong.

“In addition he could also choose to take counseling sessions or religious classes – other benefits include television and reading time too.

“So far, there have been no problems since he entered the Detention Center and we have not identified any special needs for Mr Heene.
