Jane Lynch says her "heart sank" when she realized she was a lesbian.
The 51-year-old Emmy Award winning actress -- who married psychologist Lara Embry last year -- always felt uncomfortable as a teenager and was horrified when she made sense of her feelings when she was 13 years old.
She said: "I never felt right in my body. I loved Halloween as I could dress up as a guy.

Glee star Jane Lynch congratulated all the riders at the conclusion of the AIDS/LifeCyle Saturday, especially her wife Dr. Lara Embry, who was part of the annual fundraiser.
Nearly 2,400 cyclists rode the 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles, raising an astounding $13 million for AIDS-related services at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

"Glee" star Jane Lynch has confirmed she is engaged to be married to her psychologist girlfriend Lara Embry.

"Yes, yes, it's true!" Lynch, who plays cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester in the Fox series, said at an event in Los Angeles on Saturday.
"We don't have any plans at all yet... but I have a ring and everything. We're very happy and very excited!"

In January, Lynch's publicist denied a report the couple was tying the knot in May.
