As 2009 comes to an end, RadarOnline.com asked some of this year’s most prolific artists who was on their iPod this year…

Thomas Mars of Phoenix:

Dirty Projectors, a new band from Brooklyn. I saw them live and it’s amazing. They had an album that was a fantasy of a Black Flag record the guy had when he was a kid, and it’s very virtuoso, it’s really clever.

Landon Pigg: You’ve Heard Him

Even if you don’t recognize his name, you’d definitely recognize at least one of Landon Pigg’s songs. The 26-year-old’s sparse and sweet Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop is on heavy rotation on TV commercials—first on the A Diamond Is Forever campaign and now on those ubiquitous AT&T commercials.

“It's always surreal and nice to hear your voice come out of bad quality TV speakers,” Landon tells RadarOnline.com. “It harkens back to singing on commercials in Chicago when I was nine.”

Landon, who actually calls Nashville home, has certainly come a long way. After tugging on heartstrings with his self-titled debut in 2006, and then landing songs on commercials, as well as on Grey’s Anatomy and One Tree Hill, Landon got an offer to audition for Whip It!, a fun roller derby romp and the directorial debut of Drew Barrymore. Not only did Landon get the gig, he shines in the role of Oliver, a sexy, scrappy local musician who falls for Ellen Page’s character, Bliss.

Landon said making the film with Drew “felt like home,” and the fact that he was surrounded with such a music-loving cast—including Drew, Ellen, Juliette Lewis and rapper Eve—only added to that. “Drew was always playing music on set. She always had her little portable iPod player, hot pink,” says Landon. “She played a lot of Hole, Muse, MGMT, M.I.A.”
