Ellen DeGeneres' long-awaited debut on American Idol begins Tuesday, February 9, just in time for the start of Hollywood round.

The wildly-successful DeGeneres is taking over Paula Abdul's spot as a judge on the show's panel, where she will sit alongside regulars Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, Randy Jackson and host Ryan Seacrest.
There might be some fireworks on the horizon between DeGeneres and Cowell, as the always-candid DeGeneres recently told Fox she had "one idea of Simon and it's changed -- he's actually meaner than I thought."
American Idol Alum Constantine Thinks Show Should End
For the Hollywood round beginning next week, contestants will go through the gamut of intense rehearsals and pressure-packed auditions for a coveted spot among the Top 24. Contestants will be put to the test during solo performances and group numbers slated for Tuesday, February 9 at 8/7c; Wednesday, February 10 at 9/8c; and Tuesday, February 16 at 8/7c. This season’s Top 24 semifinalists will be revealed on Wednesday, February 17 at 9/8c.
American Idol is in its' ninth season on Fox.

Allison Iraheta, the talented 17-year-old who was the last girl standing during last season's American Idol competition, is seen in this new Youtube video buying her own album, Just Like You.
The red-head wore a Groucho Marx mask while going to Best Buy, with her mother, to purchase the disc; a few fans recognized her.
Iraheta, a native of Downey, California, isn't the only one scooping up copies of the disc, but might as well be: it was expected to sell an anemic 30,000 in its first week.

Adam Lambert hasn't always looked the part of an Idol: the handsome vocalist told Sirius radio of his battles with self-image -- and waistline -- on Monday.
"I suffered from a little bit of an ugly ducking complex in my early twenties," Lambert, 27, said. "When I was in high school I was 250 pounds ... and that creates some stuff ... some body image stuff, some confidence issues, and I got a lot of my confidences from validation I got as a performer."

Adam Lambert was quite the showman on Sunday, as the talented vocalist, clad in a black leather trench coat, was snapped in downtown Los Angeles shooting a video for his upcoming album, For Your Entertainment.

Extras in the video wore plenty of black leather, chains and other risqué gear; one muscleman was snapped walking the streets in a loincloth with black boots.

Kris Allen will be debuting three songs from his upcoming first album just before the start of the Miami Dolphins - New Orleans Saints game Sunday.
The American Idol winner will be the headline act on the Dolphins Tailgate Stage and RadarOnline.com has learned that some of his performance will be televised.

American Idol runner up Adam Lambert partied hard with his boyfriend Friday night at hotspot Teddys, and RadarOnline.com was there to soak up all the fun.
Everything was fine for a while with the couple. They danced together and knocked back some vodka Redbulls and were touchy-feely. (Remember when Adam was on Idol and there was speculation about his sexuality?)

Jerry Lewis has got some competition on the charity circuit: American Idol Tuesday announced the return of Idol Gives Back, its annual benefit show that has raised more than $140 million toward causes that benefit various American and international organizations.
Past years have seen appearances from the creme de la creme of the political, athletic and entertainment worlds, including Pres. Barack Obama, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Brad Pitt, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Pink, Robin Williams and Peyton Manning, among others.
