Three days after the defense rested in the murder trial of Jennifer Hudson's family, the jury announced a guilty verdict on Friday afternoon in Chicago, RadarOnline.com is reporting.

William Balfour was on trial for the 2008 murder of Jennifer's mother Darnell Hudson Donerson, 57; her brother Jason Hudson, 29; and nephew Julian King, 7.

A former insider in shamed senator John Edwards’ camp ended up hating him so much that he joked about cashing in on the sex tape he made with Rielle Hunter.

On Tuesday, the jurors in the Greensboro courtroom for the campaign finance violation trial heard how Tim Toben, a North Carolina businessman and one-time Edwards' supporter, became so resentful of the presidential candidate that he dreamed of taking him down for his own financial gain after finding out that Andrew Young had a “personal and private video tape” of the couple, reported ABCNews.com.

During a grueling cross examination by Edwards’ defense team in the Greensboro, North Carolina courtroom, the man who was ordered to cover up Edwards' affair with mistress Rielle Hunter and hide her pregnancy, described his final car ride with the defendant on August 18, 2008 through a remote wooded area.

After numerous dismissals due to the high profile nature of the case, the final jury members have now been seated in the murder trial for the man who allegedly killed Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew.

The jury of 12 people and six alternatives, which include an acrobat and a retired Chicago Transit Authority dispatcher whose son is a shooting victim, were seated on Tuesday to allow the trial of William Balfour to begin, reported the Chicago Sun Times.

The man suspected of killing Jennifer Hudson’s family appeared in a Chicago court on Thursday to face the potential jurors in his murder trial, and those being considered to decide his fate gasped when they realized that they were involved in the high-profile celebrity murder case.

The presence of William Balfour, who is accused of slaying the Dreamgirls star’s mother, brother and nephew more than three years ago, caused 20 people to stand up and leave the courtroom when Judge Charles Burns asked if anyone would be unable to decide the case without “sympathy, bias or prejudice,” reported the Chicago Tribune.

Andrea Yates, the mother who drowned her five children, is planning to ask permission to be allowed to leave her mental hospital to attend church each week.

Yates, 47, drowned her children in the bathtub in 2001, and is currently at the Kerrville State Hospital, in Kerrville, Texas, where she has been since a jury found her not guilty of murder by reason of insanity in 2006.

Her attorney George Parnham said going to church would help Andrea.

“It is a recommendation of the doctors that she be permitted to attend, and of course she wants to. It would be both beneficial and mentally therapeutic for her. She has been accepted into a congregation. It is simply a baby step in the right direction toward acclimation into a community down the road of sorts," Parnham told CNN.

Deputy District Attorney David Walgren is holding a live news conference in the L.A. County courthouse to discuss the jury's decision following the ground breaking guilty verdict of Dr. Conrad Murray in the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson.

The jury unanimously found Dr. Murray guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the June 2009 death of Jackson, and the verdict was announced at 1:15 p.m. on Monday.

More disturbing testimony in the penalty phase of convicted Petit family killer Joshua Komisarjevsky's trial emerged on Wednesday as his former pastor took the stand, RadarOnline.com is reporting.

In testimony that was delivered like a church sermon, Bryce Whiting told the New Haven, Connecticut court how when Joshua was a teenager the convicted triple-murderer claimed he saw a "specter, a dark spiritual being" that had "glowing eyes" and was "menacing in his appearance," reported the Hartford Courant.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Komisarjevsky was found guilty of 17 counts on October 13 for the grisly murders of Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters, Hayley, 17, and Michaela, 11, and the vicious beating of their father, Dr. William Petit, on July 23, 2007. The same jury who convicted him is now deciding whether he serve life in prison or gets the death penalty.
