Getting on reality TV: Is it a gift from up above – or a pact with the devil?

After the shocking news that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Russell Armstrong committed suicide on Monday, RadarOnline.com investigated the history of reality shows and came to the gruesome conclusion that multiple suicides, murders and sudden deaths have affected an unlucky number of contestants on the shows.

It's been exactly one month since former 'Bachelorette' contestant Julien Hug shot and killed himself in a remote area of Palm Springs, and his live-in girlfriend Jennifer Bell told RadarOnline.com that there is still "tremendous temptation and interest to make sense of the senselessness."

"Not much has changed in my life in the past month, other than utter sadness and emptiness at the loss of my best friend and greatest love."

The reality television star who shot himself in a Californian desert wrote a heartbreaking suicide note to his parents, in which he said: "If life's not enjoyable, why stick around?"

Julien Hug, 35, left the handwritten note for Bertrand and Denise Hug, explaining he was suffering from “severe depression” and felt suicide was the only way out.

"I feel terribly about the grief I've caused," Hug, a one-time contestant on The Bachelorette wrote.

"This will hurt you… I'm sorry to have to do this to you... I love you both tremendously."

The restaurateur said: “People will think I took the easy way out. I say I took the smart way out.”

The girlfriend of Julien Hug -- who committed suicide last week -- has revealed how he loathed being asked about the reality television star which made him famous.

A tearful Jennifer Bell told mourners at Hug's funeral at Village Church in Rancho Santa Fe, California, on Friday, how the 35-year-old Bachelorette daredevil was her "life".

"He was my life and I don't know what I will do without him," an emotional Bell said.

"He was so incredible, so selfless, he cared about everyone. He loved reading."

Friends and family are still reeling from Julien Hug's shocking suicide but his dad Bertrand so wanted everybody to know how wonderful the popular Bachelorette contestant was, he sat down with the Fox TV station in San Diego for an exclusive interview.

"He wanted to make everybody happy," Bertrand Hug told KSWB's Brian Flores.

The devastated dad said his son could have been an actor or a writer, but he was following in his father's footsteps in the restaurant business.  Bertrand had recently bought Julien his own establishment to run.

As RadarOnline.com has reported, The Bachelorette contestant was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a remote part of the San Bernardino National Forest.

He left a suicide note which his father has yet to read.
