Redmond O'Neal graduated Thursday from a Los Angeles County Superior Court appointed drug program.
RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that troubled Redmond - son of Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett - was among 17 graduates who had DUI or drug charges that were ordered to complete the strict program.

Redmond O'Neal has been granted permission to leave the residential drug treatment program, Impact, in Pasadena, California, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Redmond O'Neal had a progress report in a Los Angeles courtroom Wednesday and Judge Michael Tynan gave exuberant praise to O'Neal. "You are doing very well. I have high hopes for you." Redmond is still at Impact in Pasadena, a residential drug treatment program.

A judge ordered Redmond O’Neal out of jail and back to in-patient residential treatment at Impact in Pasadena during a court session Tuesday.

O'Neal had been sent back to jail after he was found to be under the influence upon his return to his treatment center following a 24-hour release pass. Until his most recent relapse Redmond had been clean for six months after battling drug problems for years.

Judge Michael Tynan told Redmond, "After residential treatment, I'm going to put you into sober living. You will be given supervised passes only. You understand that? Maybe the truth will make you free."

And if O’Neal got a break Tuesday, maybe it’s because he had a guardian angel in court with him. Today would have been the 63rd birthday of his mother Farrah Fawcett, who died from cancer last year.
Redmond's probabtion was re-instated, and his next court date will be March 3rd.

The troubled son of the late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal was taken to task by Judge Michael Tynan at a progress report hearing Thursday morning. Reading from the progress report Judge Tynan said, " I thought this kid wanted to do something. He isn't working as hard as he can."

However, Raymond May, a representative from Impact where Redmond is in residential treatment, told Judge Tynan that Redmond's lack of participation was because, "He did a massive amount of drugs for years and that stunted his emotional growth, and he is just coming out of that."

Redmond addressed the court and said he has been "sober for 9 months. I have been holding back. I have been adjusting and still dealing with the death of my mother."

Pintal says that Redmond has been compliant in all phases of his recovery treatment at residential treatment center Impact, and that his progress report was positive.

Pintal goes on to say that his client is going through an "adjustment period" and that he is still "learning to participate". The loss of his late mother, Farrah Fawcett, is playing a significant role in Redmond's recovery as he is grieving and trying to come to terms with the loss of his beloved mom.
