After years of estrangement, Tatum O'Neal and her father Ryan have reconciled, and it was Farrah Fawcett's death last year that made it happen, RadarOnline.com has learned.

"When Farrah died it made me stop and think about Dad," Tatum told the UK's Daily Mail.  "I asked myself what I would do if I lost him tomorrow, and the answer was that I couldn't fathom him dying and us still being at war."

The wide-ranging interview also has Tatum opening up about her explosive marriage to tennis star John McEnroe, her relationship with their three children, and her years of drug addiction.  She's now clean and sober, she says, and back to work.

But it is her comments about her father Ryan that have everybody talking.

Serena Williams was called for a foot fault in her US Open Women's Semi-Final match against Kim Cjisters of Belgium Saturday night, and she let it rip at the lineswoman.

"If I could I would take this ****ball and shove it down your ***** throat and kill you," Williams could be heard saying.

That brought the tournament manager and the chair umpire into the fray, with Serena then denying that she's threatened to kill anyone.

She was slapped with a penalty that on top of the one she'd been given for breaking her racket after losing the first set meant Serena was out.

She lost the match 6-4, 7-5, and was followed off the court by a chorus of boos from the fans.
