Throughout his career Mick Jagger has flaunted the image of a reckless rock star, but in reality he has always counted every penny and watched his money - allegedly even with prostitutes.

A new tell-all book titled BackStage Pass VIP describes the legendary Rolling Stones front man as a conservative and cost-conscious capitalist during the band’s hay day in the 1970s.

“Even then, Jagger outlined what he was willing to pay as if he were negotiating the details of a world tour – micro-managing the transactions with call girls in Europe,” explains author Debra Sharon Davis.

The pop culture trend expert and historian reveals that Jagger was uncomfortable paying for sex, and always felt he was overcharged and couldn’t really appreciate the services of the women he hired.

Thursday marks the 31st anniversary of one of music's darkest moments, the murder of John Lennon and a tribute is planned at the Capitol Records Tower Building where Lennon's Hollywood Walk of Fame star is located.

Thursday marks the 31st anniversary of one of music's darkest moments, the murder of John Lennon and a tribute is planned at the Capitol Records Tower Building where Lennon's Hollywood Walk of Fame star is located.

Lennon, 40, was fatally shot in the back four times outside his New York City home on Monday, December 8, 1980 by Mark David Chapman, a crazed fan. Late football announcer Howard Cosell famously told the nation about Lennon's death during the Monday Night Football broadcast that evening.

Last year, Rolling Stone Magazine, in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Lennon’s murder, released an unpublished interview they conducted with the lead Beatle December 5, 1980. In the chat, Lennon -- just three days before his death -- talked about his mortality in addressing music critics who'd knocked the turn his career had taken by the start of the decade.

It's a very happy Monday for one Marilyn Monroe fan, who purchased the images, negatives and copyrights from the blonde bombshell's first-ever photo shoot for $352,000 at a celebrity auction in Beverly Hills Sunday.

The 1946 shots of the then-20-year-old Norma Jeane Dougherty were sold at Julien's Auctions' special Icons & Idols event, which features top-shelf celeb swag.

It's a very happy Monday for one Marilyn Monroe fan, who purchased the images, negatives and copyrights from the blonde bombshell's first-ever photo shoot for $352,000 at a celebrity auction in Beverly Hills Sunday.

The 1946 shots of the then-20-year-old Norma Jeane Dougherty were sold at Julien's Auctions' special Icons & Idols event, which features top-shelf celeb swag.

The winner of the auction reserves the right to sell or distribute the photos, which were placed on the block after a judge commanded the photographer, Joseph Jasgur, to sell them off to pay his debts.

Michael Jackson has been named the highest-earning dead celebrity of the past year.

The late Thriller hitmaker - who died in June 2009 aged 50 - has topped Forbes' annual list of the Top Earning Dead Celebrities for the second consecutive year after his estate brought in $170 million between October 2010 and October 2011 from sales of his music and his stake in the Sony/ATV catalog.

The estate of the Beat It singer - whose earnings dropped from $275 million 12 months ago - is set to take half of the profits from the Cirque du Soleil theatrical production Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour, which started earlier this month.
