Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards checked in a rehab facility this week, joining a slew of other Hollywood stars who have dealt with their demons in a treatment center.

What do Charlie Sheen, Robert Downey Jr. and Demi Moore have in common? All three Brat Packers have attended treatment programs. While Demi only went to rehab once in the 1980's to deal with a cocaine problem, Sheen and Downey have done the nationwide tour, attended several different programs over the years.

It's refreshing to hear that some celebrities listen to the voice of public opinion, especially when it comes to animal welfare.

Reese Witherspoon has decided to ditch her python skin purse after the cruel accessory sparked outrage from PETA, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.

As RadarOnline.com was the first to report, the Water For Elephants star has been spotted several times carrying a Chloe Paraty python and leather purse, which she clearly didn't buy in California because the popular snakeskin has been banned from sales in the state since 1970.

Reese Witherspoon's latest fashion statement has caused ripples of disgust among animal lovers and has outraged PETA, RadarOnline.com can report.

"No matter how much Reese paid for that bag, the animals paid a much higher price," Nicole Dao, Media Liaison for the PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) told RadarOnline.com.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the Water For Elephants star has been spotted several times in Los Angeles carrying a Chloe Paraty python and leather purse, which she clearly didn’t buy in California because the popular snakeskin has been banned from sales there since 1970.

"We can't imagine that she'd wish to contribute to this hidden suffering, especially for something as frivolous as a fashion accessory that can be replicated with no bloodshed," said Dao, who went on to explain the grotesque manner in which pythons are impaled on trees and skinned alive for their sought-after scales.

A clean-cut Joaquin Phoenix apologized to Late Show host David Letterman Wednesday for his bizarre appearance on the program last year, which was intended for I'm Still Here, a mock documentary about the Walk The Line star quitting acting to become a rapper.

A disheveled Phoenix appeared on Letterman’s February 11, 2009 broadcast and ranted incoherently about his rap aspirations. On Wednesday, Letterman told Phoenix his behavior was "like you slipped and hit your head in the tub."

On Thursday Casey Affleck fessed up to what many already believed: his brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix's bizarre behavior on The Late Show with David Letterman last year was all an act.  But Affleck, who has directed a documentary about Joaquin, insisted that only he, the actor and the actor's agent really knew what was going on.

Late Show writer Bill Scheft told Nuvo magazine, “Dave knew about it, and Dave loved it because he could play along…it was great television.”

Scheft actually made the assertion to the small magazine late last year but his claim was largely ignored.

He said at the time, "I’ve told people that [everyone is in on the joke], and not only don’t people believe me, they tell me that I’m wrong and that [Phoenix] is a schizophrenic and he needs help and he’s going to end up like his brother [River, who died of a drug overdose in 1993]. I said no. I saw the segment notes. It’s an act. I saw Ben Affleck’s brother taping the whole thing from offstage.”

In light of Affleck's admission that it was all an act, Scheft's claim about Dave being in on it has taken on new credibility.

"I'm Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix," is the name of the Affleck docu.  The actor-turned-director is being sued for sexual harassment by two women on the film's staff.

It should all make for more "great television" Wednesday night when Phoenix again appears on The Late Show.

As Casey Affleck battles two sexual harassment lawsuits from his work on the upcoming Joaquin Phoenix documentary I'm Still Here, another female crewmember on the project came forward in the actor's defense on Wednesday. In an exclusive statement to RadarOnline.com, Peggy Eghbalian lends her support to the actor-director, praising his work and calling her time on the film  "a great experience."

“I have never witnessed him do or say anything derogatory toward women, and nobody working on the film ever indicated to me any form of lack of respect, especially sexual harassment, that may concern him,” said Eghbalian,  who has worked on high-profile projects before including New York, I Love You and Along Came Polly.

His brother's sexual harassment problems must have seemed a world away for Ben Affleck as he enjoyed a family day with his wife Jennifer Garner and their two daughters, Saturday in Los Angeles.

As these photos obtained by RadarOnline.com show, Ben was the doting dad as little Violet and Seraphina Rose played with a colorful soccer ball, and he was the doting husband when Jen leaned in for an affectionate kiss.

Ben's brother Casey is being sued by two women who both claim they were sexually harassed by Affleck while working with him on a documentary about his brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix.  Casey is married to Summer Phoenix, and they have two sons.

Casey Affleck's rep issued a vigorous denial when he was hit with the first lawsuit.  There was no comment when the second lawsuit landed Friday.
