A host of stars -- including Star Trek originals Leonard Nimoy and George Takei - came out in Los Angeles Thursday night for the world premiere of director JJ Abrams' reimagination of Star Trek.

Veteran actor Leonard Nimoy admitted that he was moved to tears reprising his role as the Vulcan Spock in the new $150 million Star Trek blockbuster.
Nimoy, 78, who stars alongside a brand new younger crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, ‘choked-up’ when he thought about some of former co-stars like James Doohan and DeForrest Kelly who are no longer alive.
The normally stoic actor confessed: “Yes, I did get emotional and I was crying at times but I’m at a much more peaceful place in my life too right know and that feels good."

Star Trek’s original Captain Kirk William Shatner has given his approval to Chris Pine’s performance of the famous space traveler in the new $150 million blockbuster.
The two actors finally met for the first time at a charity equestrian event in Los Angeles over the weekend. And Pine - who is about to become a breakout star in JJ Abrams re-invention of the space saga - admits he was a ‘little scared’ of meeting the original Captain James T. Kirk.
