Big Bang Theory's Jim Parsons Comes Out As Gay

It's not the most shocking revelation, but it's official now.

The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons confirmed his sexuality in a recent interview that mentions he's a gay man and has been in a 10-year relationship.

The Emmy-winning actor did an expose with the New York Times in which they quietly hit on his sexual orientation while talking about a production of The Normal Heart — a play that takes a look at the sexual politics of New York during the AIDS crisis.

Jim, 39, thanked his long-time partner Todd Spiewak once during his Golden Globes acceptance speech…and now everyone knows why.

Modern Family was the big winner at Sunday's 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre, as the hit ABC series swept the five categories it was nominated in: best comedy, best supporting actor (Ty Burrell), best supporting actress (Julie Bowen), best writing and direction.

The night definitely had its share of surprises -- Melissa McCarthy captured best actress in a comedy for Mike & Molly while Kyle Chandler won best actor in a drama for Friday Night Lights.

After her second straight nomination, Julianna Margulies finally won Best Actress in a drama for her critically acclaimed starring role in The Good Wife; Kate Winslet won best actress in a miniseries or movie for Mildred Pierce; Martin Scorsese took home best direction in a drama for Boardwalk Empire; and Mad Men captured the award for best drama series.

Charlie Sheen made a surprise appearance at the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards on Sunday night, giving a heartfelt message to his former cast and crew of Two and a Half Men.

"Before I present Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, my old category, I want to take a moment to get something off my chest and say a few words to everybody here from Two and a Half Men," Charlie said.

"From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together and I know you will continue to make great television."

The Office star Rainn Wilson is not happy that Steve Carell did not win best actor in a comedy at the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday night in Los Angeles.

After the ceremony, Wilson  -- who plays quirky Dwight Schrute on the show -- tweeted: “The world of TV should be ashamed of itself that Steve Carell never won an Emmy for Michael Gary Scott. Goodnight.”

Mad Men, meanwhile, marked its third consecutive win in the best TV drama series category.

"It was completely unexpected,” star Jon Hamm said backstage.
