Police Believe Missing Five-Year-Old Arizona Girl Was Killed And Dumped In Trash

The body of missing Arizona girl Jhessye Shockley has yet to be found, but the police investigating her disappearance believe that the five-year-old was killed and her body dumped in a trash can across town.

"We're in what we believed to be the worst-case scenario from the beginning," Sergeant Brent Coombs of the Glendale, Arizona police department said at a news conference on Wednesday.

While the investigators didn't go as far as directly accusing Jhessye's mother, Jerice Hunter, of murdering her daughter, they pointed their fingers sharply in her direction by describing her as the "No. 1 focus."

Disturbing new details have come to light of the alleged abuse that missing Arizona girl, Jhessye Shockley suffered at the hands of her own mother in the weeks before her disappearance, RadarOnline.com has learned.

According to the Glendale Police Department report that was released on Tuesday, several weeks before she vanished, Jhessye's mom, Jerice Hunter, verbally berated her young daughter after she came home and found the five-year-old wearing a long tee-shirt and watching T.V. with a neighborhood boy.

There has been no sign of Jhessye Shockley and now new court documents have emerged giving disturbing details on the abuse that the missing Arizona girl allegedly endured up until the day of her disappearance, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Rather than doing everything she could to find the missing five-year-old, Jhessye's mom, Jerice Hunter told a family member to lie to police about the timing of her disappearance, reported ABC15.com.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the child - whose named is pronounced 'Jessie' - was reported missing on October 11 when her mom went to run an errand and claims she came back to her Glendale, Arizona, home to find her daughter had vanished without a trace.

The family of a missing Arizona five-year-old girl are outraged because they think their plight is being ignored by the public, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Desperate to get the case of Jhessye Shockley as much attention as Lisa Irwin, her relatives marched on the state Capitol in Phoenix on Monday, reported the Arizona Republic.

Thursday marked the two week anniversary of when the child - whose named is pronounced 'Jessie' - was reported missing when her mom, Jerice Hunter, went to run an errand and came home to find her daughter had vanished without a trace.
