Rio 3D, the animated adventure of two love-struck birds who travel to Brazil, was the clear box office winner this weekend. With Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg as the voice stars, it pulled in $26.8 million in its second week in release.

It easily demolished Reese Witherspoon and Rob Pattinson's circus-themed love story, Water for Elephants.  It finished third in its opening weekend, with just $17.5 million in ticket sales.

The second spot went to Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family.  It opened to a solid $25.8 million.

With the voices of Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg as love struck birds seeking adventure in Rio de Janeiro, Rio 3D killed at the box office this weekend.

It took in an estimated $40 million, more than double Scream 4. That Courteney Cox and David Arquette reteaming had a disappointing $19 million opening.

Rio 3D, also featuring Jamie Foxx, Jane Lynch and Wanda Sykes looks like it has legs -- which is saying something for a flick about birds!

The Academy Awards is always a yearbook of what's hot -- not just in the movies, but society as well -- and on Sunday night, producers gave a comedic nod to the auto-tune-fueled viral video epidemic, mashing up a number of the year's films in a medley YouTube sensation Antoine Dodson couldn't have done any better.

The sequence featured splices from some of the year's biggest commercial hits, such as Eclipse, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Social Network and Toy Story 3.

The King's Speech’s award once again reigned supreme at  the BAFTAs -- the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards -- RadarOnline.com has learned, as the acclaimed film picked up seven honors at the ceremony, which took place at the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden.

The film won the awards for best picture, best actor (Colin Firth), supporting actor (Geoffrey Rush), supporting actress (Helena Bonham Carter) and original screenplay writer (David Seidler), among its’ highest honors.

The 83rd Academy Awards® nominations luncheon takes place today at 2:30pm EST/11:30am PST, and you can watch it live here on RadarOnline.com.

Nineteen of the 20 nominees in the acting categories will be among more than 140 Oscar® nominees who will gather at the Beverly Hilton Hotel when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science honors this year's Oscar contenders at its annual Nominees Luncheon.

The King's Speech reigned supreme at Sunday's Screen Actors Guild Awards, taking home the honors for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion  Picture, while star Colin Firth picked up the Best Actor award. Meanwhile, Natalie Portman won Best Actress for her dark turn in Black Swan, making her and Firth the clear Oscar frontrunners.

"I'd like to thank security for letting me into the building," Firth joked during his acceptance speech, a reference to The King's Speech's resurgence as an Oscar favorite against a strong field of critics’ darlings like The Social Network, The Fighter and Black Swan.

Jesse Eisenberg hosted the show, and the actor who is Oscar-nominated for playing Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network was sandwiched on stage by SNL star Andy Samburg impersonating Zuckerberg and the real-life Facebook founder himself!

Eisenberg came across as super nervous during his opening monologue until he was joined on stage by Samburg dressed as Zuckerberg, and the two compared notes on playing the usually reclusive billionaire.

It could have been awkward when the real Zuckerberg joined in, except that the internet legend seems to be finally loosening up and accepting his celebrity status.  He even admitted to seeing The Social Network.  His one word review: "interesting."

The Social Network is nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.
