Jennifer Mee, the teen who made headlines four years ago for her battle with hiccups, and is now behind bars at Florida’s Pinellas County Jail charged with 1st degree felony murder in a 2010 killing, told the Today Show Tuesday she's "not guilty of anything" in her first  television  interview since her arrest last year.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Mee was arrested October 24, 2010 along with with two men (Lamont Newton and Laron C. Raiford) in connection with the fatal shooting of Shannon Griffin, 22, during a botched robbery attempt in St. Petersburg, Florida. They have all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In her first television interview, Rachel Robidoux told The Today Show on Friday that her daughter Jennifer Mee - better known as the "Hiccup Girl" -  "doesn't understand the severity of what's going on right now."

"Does she comprehend what she's facing now, first-degree murder charges?"  Today show host Matt Lauer asked Robidoux.

In her first television interview, Rachel Robidoux told The Today Show on Friday that her daughter Jennifer Mee - better known as the "Hiccup Girl" -  "doesn't understand the severity of what's going on right now."

"Does she comprehend what she's facing now, first-degree murder charges?"  Today show host Matt Lauer asked Robidoux.

"I don't think so," Robidoux responded. "She said the last time I saw her that she hopes she's home for Christmas."

Mee made national headlines in 2007 for her 5-week bout of hiccuping, which doctors later linked to her Tourette's Syndrome.

A Florida judge Friday refused to set bail for "Hiccup Girl" Jennifer Mee pending her trial for first degree murder, RadarOnline.com has learned. Defense attorney John Trevena sought to have the court set a bond for Mee, 19, whose unrelenting case of the hiccups at the age of 15 brought her fame in 2007.

The infamous teenager and two men are accused of killing Shannon Griffin, 22, in a robbery on October 23 for between $50 and $60 in St Petersburg, Florida, which went tragically wrong.
