Oscar-Nominated English Director Ken Russell Dies At 84

Oscar-nominated British director Ken Russell died Sunday at 84 after suffering from multiple strokes, his son Alex Verney-Elliott said Monday.
"My father died peacefully," Verney-Elliott said. "He died with a smile on his face."

Jack Tweed, the young widower of late British reality TV star Jade Goody, spent 20 minutes at his late wife's grave Friday, laying down roses in solemn silence as he mourned.
Tweed, 21, was fresh out of an English prison, where he served six weeks in connection with an attack of a cabbie, was wearing his wedding band and a watch Goody gave him.
Jade Goody was only 27 when she died March 22 after a hard-fought battle with cervical cancer.

Jack Tweed, the widower of late British reality star Jade Goody, was released Friday from HMP Edmunds Hill Prison after serving half of a 12-week sentence in connection with his attack on a cabbie.
He left the correctional facility with his mother, Mary, and his good friend Mark Wright.

The sad real-life drama of reality star Jade Goody came to a close
Saturday with her funeral in Essex.
The 27-year-old drew international attention with her losing battle
against cervical cancer. Even British prime minister Gordon Brown paid
tribute to her.
The Big Brother star married her boyfriend Jack Tweed in February after
announcing that doctors said she had only weeks to live. Saturday, he
fought back tears during a final farewell.
