Michael Jackson's Family "Thrilled" About Cirque Du Soleil Show

Michael Jackson's estate has made a deal with Cirque du Soleil to develop projects based on the late pop singer's music and choreography - the deal encompasses touring and permanent shows .
The first of these projects will feature an arena-touring show in which fans will experience a re-creation of a Michael Jackson concert, and this is expected to debut in the fall of 2011. It's anticipated that show will have an extended run in Las Vegas in conjunction with longtime Cirque du Soleil partner in Sin City, MGM Mirage.

The permanent show, which will also be in partnership with the MGM Mirage, is expected to debut in late 2012.

Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson says, "Our family is thrilled that Cirque du Soleil will pay tribute to my son in such an important way."

Michael Jackson's estate will own 50% of the project and Cirque du Soleil will have the other half. The estate will equally share in casting, developing, building and producing the projects. The estate will also receive royalty payments on various aspects of intellectual property used in the Michael Jackson projects.

Joe Jackson has come one step closer to cashing in on his late son, Michael Jackson's estate.
In court Thursday Judge Mitchell Beckloff set an evidenciary hearing for May 26th for Joe Jackson's request for a family allowance.
But it won't be plain sailing for Joe, Margaret Lodise, the guardian ad litem for Michael Jackson's children told the judge, "I have concerns about the request because Joe Jackson isn't a beneficiary of the estate."

Michael Jackson's younger brother Randy is on the witness list and could possibly testify Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court against a proposal by concert promoter AEG Live for a 3-city memorabilia tour that would begin this October, according to the Associated Press. The tour will coincidence with the release of a feature film using footage from Jackson's final rehearsals.

Debbie Rowe -- Michael Jackson's ex-wife and mother of his two eldest children -- will be attending the singer's memorial service in Los Angeles Tuesday.
"Debbie will attend. We just got confirmation last night from the people who are handling the VIP seats that they do have Debbie's seats and she will be attending," Marc Schaffel, a former Jackson business associate, said on ABC's Good Morning America Monday.
More than 1.6 million fans registered online for a chance to attend the Staples Center ceremony; only 8,750 names were chosen.
