Russell Brand has filed for divorce from Katy Perry, RadarOnline.com has confirmed.

Brand filed the docs on Friday in Los Angeles County, and cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The couple was married in India in the summer of 2010.

Rumors that the marriage was in trouble have been plaguing the former couple for several months.

The 26-year-old ex-Melrose Place star married the Fall Out Boy rocker at her parents' Encino home in May 2008, and the two have a 3-year-old son named Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

In the documents Aguilera lists their date of separation as September 11, 2010, and confirms that the couple did have a prenuptial agreement. The singer is requesting the court confirm that her “miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects” as well as her “earnings and accumulations....before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation” be deemed separate property.
