“I wanted to design clothes that I would wear and my fans would wear. That was the most important thing to me,” Spears dished to WWD. “I wanted to make both daytime casual looks and fun dresses to go out in at night. I met with the design team for Candie’s and Kohl’s, and we started making sketches and designed a line. I got to approve every single piece in the line. It was really a lot of fun.”

Finally, Madonna is going become a true, Material Girl. After decades of wearing Dolce, Gaultier and McQueen, the controversial singer has decided to launch her own line. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Madonna has formed a joint venture with Iconix Brand Group Inc., to create an extensive brand, which will span from footwear, to apparel to possibly, endorsing other Iconiz brands.

The first line set to launch, will be an affordable juniors’ collection called Material Girl, which is set to hit Macy’s stores in August. It will include apparel, footwear, handbags and jewelry and retail modestly at $12 to $40. Who was her main Material Girl muse? Her fashionista daughter, Lourdes Leon, of course, who has played an active role in creating the collection!
