Man Cleavage: The Chic, The Sad & The Hairy

Style: Man Cleavage

Poring over a summer's worth of celebrity fashion, we caught on to small but potent sect of Hollywood men rocking a consistent accessory--sizeable portions of man cleavage.

Click here to see famous men that love to bare their chests, like Ed Westwick, Russell Brand and Adrien Brody!

In a sea of bellybutton cut Henley's and full chest rug, we got to thinking: is this acceptable?

RadarOnline.com turned to GQ magazine's legendary style guy Glenn O'Brien for a verdict.

Firstly, apologies to Westwick, the he-vage of late isn't breaking any ground.

"I don't think this is so new," O'Brien says, "There's always been a Hollywood hunk aesthetic."

O'Brien sites sartorial molds like the English rockstar ("Keith Richards was always open down the front") to the eccentric American actor like Johnny Depp as man cleavage all-stars.

While O'Brien never undoes the second button, he reasons that "some men might misjudge its appeal, but if you're a presentable looking guy, why not?"

Presentable would mostly mean groomed--as the columnist says women (especially in the US) aren't huge fans of chest hair.

"Every summer before I hit the beach, I take out the hair cutting scissors, reduce the foliage," he said.

In some of the cases we found in our gallery (this means you, Simon Cowell), take the same note for fall.
