Hugh Jackson - Action Hero; Action Dad
Posted on Sep 22, 2009 @ 10:34AM - 1 comment

Action star Hugh Jackman is used to chasing bad mutants as X-Men hero Wolverine, but he had the much more human task Monday of catching his daughter Ava in the bustling streets of New York.
The four-year-old got away from her dad on her pink scooter and the 40-year-old actor had to take off in hot pursuit to catch her.
Wearing a sharp suit and sun glasses the popular Australian star proved that he was up to the task as his wife Deborra-Lee Furness watched-on.
Who Wore It Best: Haute Halle vs. Cover Girl Paquin

A battle between a big screen mutant and cable vampire lover would certainly be compelling, but the real life red carpet challenge between Halle Berry and Anna Paquin is what's on deck.
Last night, at Nylon Magazine's September Issue bash in Los Angeles, cover girl Anna Paquin turned up in a sex black number by Herve L. Leroux with a sexy take on the sweetheart neckline and sheer sleeves.
It gave us a bit of style deja vous--we remembered Halle Berry in the same look months ago, supporting her pal Hugh Jackman at his X-Men Origins: Wolverine screening.
Same look, save a modified sleep and a lower cut. Who wore it best?
We're going with Halle on this one--her curves, winning smile and ownership of the look makes it a landslide to Paquin's attempt.

A pair of Hollywood's hottest hunks, Twilight's Robert Pattinson and X-Men Origins: Wolverine's Hugh Jackman, will join forces in Unbound Captives, a drama set in the 1860's that marks actress Madeline Stowe's debut as a director.
"Robert said yes last fall, before everything broke with Twilight," said Stowe. "Hugh said yes a couple of weeks ago."
The film also features Rachel Weisz, who Stowe said she felt strongly about casting the actress in the film.

Wolverine lunches in Beverly Hills, Bruce Willis strolls with his new wife, and two comedians take on tennis. Read on for RadarOnline.com’s latest installment of Out & About: Celebrity Sightings:
Funnymen Will Ferrell and Rainn Wilson kept the crowd in stitches at a recent fundraiser at UCLA’s Los Angeles Tennis Center. In between stopping by the backyard bbq for some grub and Rose’s cocktails, the two took to the court- with Ferrell jokingly donning a swine flu mask for his match. Not to be outdone, Wilson arrived with a sweat headband and a t-shirt which read “QUIET PLEASE.” As if they could keep the crowd from laughing!
Newlyweds Bruce Willis and Emma Heming walking down the streets of New York together arm-in-arm. The impossibly good-looking couple (Willis looked dashing in a white button-down and Heming was model-gorgeous in a black top and jeans) stayed hydrated with a bottle of vitaminwater essential. Hmm, maybe that’s Willis’ fountain of youth since he looks better now than during his Die Hard days!
Adding to the bevy of stars who regularly stop by legendary eatery Grill on the Alley, Hugh Jackman lunched with super-agent Patrick Whitesell and X-Men Origins: Wolverine producer John Palermo. Toasting to their recent success or planning out the sequel? Oh, to be a fly on the wall for that power lunch!
On the eve before their 100th episode aired, the cast of Grey’s Anatomy hit up hotspot Kress for their wrap party. After watching a gag reel put together by the producers, star Chandra Wilson gave a “moving toast about what an amazing five seasons they have had together” an onlooker told RadarOnline.com. The reel covered some of the show’s best moments as well as footage of the writers, producers, and crew members goofing around at the studio.

Wolverine Rules The Box Office!

Curse, what curse?
X-Men Origins: Wolverine-- which was plagued by both on-line pirates and the swine flu - is in track to rake in $80 million dollars in its opening weekend.
Wolverine --starring Hugh Jackman -- opened to a $35 million box office on Friday, boosted by strong midnight showings on Thursday night. While the opening day didn’t break any records, it was a very solid opening day in the face of swine flu concerns that might have scared off some people in affected states from going to a crowded movie theater.

Hugh Jackman and Twentieth Century Fox are set to have a very good weekend. Their new movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine brought in close to $5 million through midnight showings, similar to the amount Iron Man grossed in their early showings before raking in $102 million that opening weekend.
While the official amount is still being tallied by Fox, the numbers from the 2,000 showings bode well and many expect the film to rake in more than the $70 million projected for the weekend.
WOLVERINE IS X-CELLENT!

Hugh Jackman is a stud. The guy can sing show tunes as much as he wants, as long as every few years he puts on those adamantium claws. Much has been made about Hugh’s rippling muscles for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It’s not hype. Logan looks like an animal — both in the hot way and in the way that can rip the bad guys’ friggin’ heads off. It’s awesome.
Wolverine totally lives up to the hype. The first chapter in the X-Men saga is thrilling and visually stunning. It’s also much darker and sadder, and has less humor than the previous X-Mens, but that’s okay. They’re explaining Logan’s background and it becomes clear immediately why he turned into such a big, bad wolf.
