A Harvard University graduate, Natalie Portman knows a thing or two about being one of the smartest girls around. Now, the actress is taking her experiences one step further by producing a new movie Booksmart which revolves around two overachieving high school students.

At the end of their high school career, the two girls realize that they have yet to reach one goal: getting a boyfriend. They soon embark on a journey to snag a man by prom.
Portman has recently stepped up her producing role: she and partner Annette Savitch have two other movies (Love and Other Impossible Pursuits and Hesher) in production which both star the actress.
Drew Barrymore's production company Flower Films has been widely successful since their high school romantic comedy Never Been Kissed. Hopefully Portman will have similar luck!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt -- perhaps best known as young Tommy in the 90's sitcom Third Rock From The Sun -- has completed his transition to adult actor.

Gordon, now 28, will next star in Hesher, an indie drama being directed by Spencer Susser.
The film focuses on a loser twentysomething (Gordon-Levitt) who injects himself into the life of an awkward 13-year-old named T.J. who is living with a pill-popping father (Rainn Wilson) and grandmother. Natalie Portman --who's also producing the movie -- plays a supermarket worker for whom the kid falls for after she saves him from a bully.
The movie is currently shooting in Los Angeles.
Gordon-Levitt also stars in this summer's (500) Days of Summer as well as G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and recently booked a lead role in Christopher Nolan's Inception.
