As we prepare to ring in a new year, RadarOnline.com takes a look back at the celebrities we lost in 2011 who made their memorable mark on the world.

Apple founder Steve Jobs died at 56 on October 5 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. The tech guru leaves a vast legacy in his industry over the better part of four decades, listed as the inventor of household items such as iPod, iPhone and iPad, among others. He was also the driving force behind companies like Pixar and Atari.

Legendary newsman Andy Rooney died November 4, just weeks after his 1097th and final weekly segment on the CBS stalwart 60 Minutes, capping off a 33-year run.

Heavy D's Memorial Service Set For Next Week In New York

Rapper Heavy D will be remembered next week by family and friends in New York during two memorial services, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

A memorial for the 44-year-old legend will first be held next Wednesday, November 16, at the Yannantuono Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, New York from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A second memorial will be held the next day, November 17, at Grace Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon at 11 a.m.

Rapper Heavy D's shocking death Tuesday at the age of 44 has stunned fans and those closest to him, including former NBA star turned radio host John Salley.

In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, John calls Heavy D a really good friend and tells us they became close when he first moved to Los Angeles.

John says that he and his wife Natasha Duffy were always big fans of Heavy D's songs -- so much so, that Now That We Found Love was one of their wedding songs when they tied the knot in 1993.

Rapper Heavy D Dead At 44

Dwight Arrington Myers, known professionally as Heavy D, died on Tuesday afternoon RadarOnline.com has learned.

The hip-hop legend, who is best known for his band Heavy D & the Boyz’s hit song Now That We Found Love, was pronounced dead at a Los Angeles hospital shortly after his arrival.

Ironically, on Monday afternoon the musician paid homage to Smokin Joe Frazier on his Twitter.
