Jackson Was “In Terrific Shape” During Performance Days Before His Death

Noted Grammy producer Ken Ehlrich told RadarOnline.com that Michael Jackson was in “terrific shape” when he performed at a dress rehearsal the same week of his sudden passing. Ehrlich – who had worked with Jackson in the past – sat for one hour watching the superstar on stage.

“Michael was in terrific shape and there was no evidence that he was struggling at the Staples Center,” he said. “I was sitting right in the middle of the arena and I watched him perform around six or seven songs. He was still learning the steps and the moves with the other dancers but he looked very comfortable with what he was doing.”

He also dispelled any notions that Jackson was unable to handle the fifty date concert schedule which was due to start next month in London.

“Both the show’s director Kenny Ortega and choreographer Travis Payne were on stage with him and from what I could see what we were watching was like the Michael of old and he was on top of what he was doing,” Ehlrich continued. “Obviously, Michael was such a perfectionist.”

“He was doing some singing too and wasn’t taking long pauses before starting another song or dance routine.”

Following Jackson’s death on June 25  there was speculation that the pressure of doing fifty dates in London would have been too much for the fragile performer. From his time with Jackson in the icon’s final days, the veteran producer saw a performer ready and capable of handling the load.

“In my opinion he was absolutely ready for the London concerts and I was very optimistic from what I saw that night that he would put on a great show,” he added. “Michael seemed to be enjoying himself while fine-tuning the dance routines in what I would say was more of a production rehearsal for him.”

DNP Random Things The Ocho

Leave it to a stunning supermodel to tell you that you should eat! Heidi Klum recently sounded off on dieting, taking aim at the models on her show Project Runway

"In many cases, the girls eat garbage - things like pancakes and waffles and a lot of junk - which is not going to help them,” she said. “You don't need to starve, but you have to learn to look after yourself. You'd hardly see any of them eating vegetables or salads. Not even an apple. It was kind of shocking.”

Today, my grandmother patched up my $300, vintage, limited edition, designer jeans because she thought I'd accidentally ripped them.

Today, I had sex with my girlfriend. Being the stud that I am, after a short time I turned to her and said "You think you're ready for a round two?" She replied "No, but I do think I'm ready for the rest of round one.”

Today, friends threw me a party for finishing my dissertation. I've worked on it for months. They carried my computer downstairs to have music, dropping it halfway. My work was on there. Only back-up? On my flash drive I just found on the floor, crushed by someone's foot. It's due tomorrow.

Readers share your pain and write back comments, come comforting; some would-be-therapists offering advice but if its catharsis’ you need you can vent all you want.

Number one on our list is something we carry with us every day. Yep, a Swiss Army Knife. There are a zillion models but we like the Voyager Lite Ruby which includes all the standard blades and saws PLUS some you’ll never guess: digital clock, alarm. Toothpick, nail file, scissors, Phillips screw driver, LED white light, and the most valuable item, the corkscrew for that bottle of wine. $115 at Swiss Army.

The first thing you need if you’re going further than your backyard is a water purifier. Our favorite is the SteriPEN Traveler Handheld Water Purifier because it’s compact, easy to use and fast. Traveler is proven effective against risks like Cryptosporidium and Giardia, which even sound nasty. Traveler ships with 2 non-rechargeable (disposable) batteries, a nylon case and user’s guide. You have good intentions and want to overhaul your habits to make your lifestyle healthier. But you have a busy life and somehow you never get started on that weight-loss program.

How do you break this pattern of inaction and finally make the commitment to get healthier? The answer can be found by studying people who have succeeded.

Research reveals that many success stories begin with a turning point, an experience that prods people into changing their ways. That “Eureka!” or "Aha!" moment often comes in the form of surviving a personal health scare, experiencing the death of a loved one, losing an important relationship, or hitting an emotional bottom.

"Sometimes there's a lightning bolt flash of insight and other times these changes occur after serious self-reflection," says William R. Miller, Ph.D., professor of psychology and psychiatry at the University of New Mexico who has spent years investigating how people change their health behavior.

It’s frustrating, isn’t it? You’re constantly fighting those extra pounds. You skip the pastries and jog till you’re about to keel over … but let’s be straight here: You still weight more than you want to..

So the bad news is that you can pinch more skin than you want to, but the good news is it’s doesn’t have to stay that way. Let’s take a look at some of the things you’re doing (without meaning to) that’s keeping your pounds on – and how to fix them.

•    Loading up on liquids. Juices and smoothies – so good, right? Well, yes and no. The fruit is good but the sugar content is not. They’re too easy to slurp down, and here’s the real killer – your brain doesn’t even consider those calories food. So you’ve just packed on a meal’s worth of calories – and you’re still looking for the meal. Skip the smoothies and other juice drinks altogether. Try limiting yourself to eight ounces of 100 percent juice a day. If you can’t manage that, at least try to alternate your juice cravings with water. It’s a quick way to cut out calories.

DNP Random Things Pics

Don’t eat fat! Don’t eat carbs! Don’t eat breakfast! Sound familiar?

When it comes to losing weight, everyone seems to have an opinion on what you SHOULDN’T do – and shouldn’t eat.

Sure, if you don’t eat, you’ll lose weight, but you’ll also be starving. And that’s a surefire way to sabotage your diet – because people with grumbling stomachs almost always make the wrong food choices. Either you’ll grab something convenient (and not healthy) when the hunger pangs start -- or you’ll overindulge to compensate.

So what can you do?

First of all, ignore anyone who says you have to starve your way to a Size 2. Instead, choose foods that leave you feeling full, but still help you achieve your weight-loss goals.
