The songs of Frank Sinatra didn't bode well for American Idol contestant Aaron Kelly who was eliminated from the show Wednesday night.

After his mediocre rendition of Fly Me to the Moon on Tuesday’s performance show, the youngest member in the competition was ousted in a quiet and bittersweet goodbye. There were no tears, as with past Idol eliminations, but a simple farewell to a young performer who needed just a bit more time to grow.

The ever-dapper Harry Connick, Jr. was this week’s mentor who not only composed the arrangements and orchestrations for the contestants, but also tickled the ivories during each performance.
