The world is rallying in an effort to send much needed aid, including medical supplies, clothing and food to the earthquake ravaged Caribbean nation of Haiti.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Hollywood is also doing it’s part, with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stepping up and pledging their support just hours after the news hit of the 7.0 magnitude quake on Tuesday 12th January. Former Fugees band member and fellow Haitian, Wyclef Jean, has been working tirelessly in his devastated homeland through his charity The Yele Haiti Foundation, and Hollywood heart throb George Clooney is using his high profile celebrity to organize a star studded world wide global concert and telethon, Hope For Haiti, which will be broadcast on Friday.

Not to be outdone by the glitz and glamour, the older, more established charities are also rallying, with one of the most respected and well known of them all, The Red Cross, taking the lead.
On Saturday The Red Cross Santa Monica branch will be holding a fundraising event, Youth Run For Haiti. Joining forces with hunky actor Josh Duhamel, The Red Cross of Santa Monica is hosting a 2-mile “youth run” on Santa Monica Beach in California, requesting a $10 donation from participants, with all proceeds going towards the relief effort in Haiti.
After seeing the images of devastation and despair in Haiti, big hearted Duhamel was passionate about getting involved in raising funds. Realizing that traveling to the country in person was nearly impossible, as well as maybe ineffective, Duhamel contacted his friend and personal trainer, Don Brooks of Don-A-Matrix Training, to discuss what they could do to physically make a difference.
