Anders Behring Breivik pleaded not guilty to terrorism and murder charges linked to the July 22, 2011 attack that left 77 people dead, as his trial began in Oslo, Norway on Monday.

Breivik, clad in a dark suit, raised his fist as he entered the courtroom, presumably in support of his stance.

A third member of the National Guard -- a woman -- died overnight as a result of injuries she suffered at the hands of a crazed gunman who opened fire in an IHOP restaurant in Carson City, Nevada Tuesday morning.

In all, five people, including the gunman (who took his own life), were killed in the rampage, which also left seven others wounded.

Authorities are now trying to determine whether the gunman -- identified as 32-year-old Carson City resident Eduardo Sencion -- specifically targeted the group of National Guard personnel who were eating breakfast in the restaurant.

A crazed gunman opened fire just before 9 a.m. PDT at a Carson City, Nevada IHOP restaurant on Tuesday morning before turning the gun on himself, RadarOnline.com is reporting.

"There's seven in surgery either at Renown Medical Center in Reno and in Carson City," Chief Deputy Jack Freer said.

"The suspect did die of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No shots were fired by law enforcement."

A judge in Oslo, Monday ordered Anders Behring Breivik held for another eight weeks until his next hearing following Norway’s worst ever terrorist act.

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, authorities say Breivik, 32, has confessed to twin attacks that killed more than 100 people and injured 97 others last Friday.

Prior to the start of the hearing, the judge denied Breivik’s request that it be open to the public. Instead, the hearing was held behind closed doors, which prevented Breivik the platform to air his anti-Muslim rants and call for revolution.

Anders Behring Breivik has confessed to the murder of 85 people, most of them children, in Norway.  "He has said he believed the actions were atrocious, but that in his head they were necessary," his lawyer Geir Lippestad told reporters.

Breivik is also charged with setting off a bomb blast that killed seven in Norway's capitol, Oslo.  It's unclear if he's also confessed to that crime.

The 32-year-old owner of an organic farming company was said by acquaintances to be on a "crusade" against the spread of Islam in Europe.

With a total of 92 killed, the attack is the deadliest by a single gunman in recorded history.  And the number may still rise.

At his targeted summer camp on an island off Norway's coast, children ran into the sea in desperate attempts to escape Breivik, who fired on them for an estimated 90 minutes before police got to the scene.  There are seven children still missing.

"I heard screams.  I heard people begging for their lives and I heard shots. He just blew them away," Erik Kursetgjerde, 18, told Reuters.

Breivik's lawyer said his client is looking forward to his first court date on Monday so that he can publicly offer up his reasons for his attacks.

A kid's birthday party became the scene of a deadly massacre Saturday night in Grand Prairie, Texas. A gunman opened fire, killing five, and wounding another four, before turning the gun on himself and firing a fatal final shot.

Roller World had been reserved by a family celebrating their child's birthday but fortunately no kids are among the dead. The dead gunman was a guest at the event and had been seen arguing with his wife before pulling out his pistol.

"It appears to be a domestic situation at this point, that's our initial finding, and it appears the suspect did die from a self-inflicted gun wound," police chief Steve Dye said.

The gunman died at Parkland Memorial Hospital, famous as the medical facility where President John F. Kennedy died in 1963.
