Angelina Jolie has been on a humanitarian trip to Ecuador and in honor of World Refugee Day, the actress sent out a special video message that included an interview she did with a local woman who escaped from violence-torn Colombia.

Jolie, who is a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Goodwill Ambassador, went to Ecuador - which borders Colombia - eight years ago. At the time, there were 300 registered refugees. Today, there are 50,000 and over 100,000 identified. In the video, she spoke to one woman who shared her tale of escape.

After spending time with son Maddox at his school’s end of the year picnic, Angelina Jolie jetted off to Ecuador to visit a daycare center.

The actress, who is a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Goodwill Ambassador, stopped by at the center run by the Women’s Federation of Sucumbios province.

Even though the war ended 15-years ago many of the refugee’s homes have not yet been rebuilt since they were evacuated, and 7,000 are living in refugee centers, while the other 110,000 live with relatives or in rented housing.

UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie landed in Haiti Tuesday and headed to a Doctors Without Borders Hospital in the Delmas neighborhood of the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported Jolie was in the Dominican Republic Monday, visiting with Haitian children that are in the neighboring country to receive medical treatment following the devastating 7.0 earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12th, killing more than 200,000 people.

Jolie also took time to meet with the President of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez at the presidential National Palace.

Angelina takes her role as Goodwill Ambassador seriously, and never lets the threat of danger or disease get in the way of her duties. She has previously visited other war torn and disaster damaged countries with the UNHCR to raise awareness of the plight of the world's refugees, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sudan.

Angelina also isn't afraid to put her money where her mouth is, she, along with partner Brad Pitt, was one of the first in Hollywood to rush to the aid of Haiti, following news of the massive quake, donating $1 million to assist in rescue efforts.

Hollywood royalty Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arrived in Syrian capital city Damascus on Friday as part of a goodwill mission to visit Iraqi refugees there.
The star couple visited with two families, victims of unspeakable crimes of kidnapping and abuse, where mother of six Jolie was visibly moved by their harrowing tales.

"I'm grateful to you for sharing this story," Jolie expressed to Hoda, a mother who was kidnapped and assaulted along with her son.
"It helps to make it easier to understand your problems. There's a lot of suffering in this part of the world; you're a very brave and strong woman for putting this behind you for the sake of your children."
Pitt and Jolie also met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his wife, discussing education and healthcare options for the refugee children.
Jolie is a Goodwill Ambassard to the United Nations' refugee agency.
