‘G.I. Joe’ Wins Box Office War

The critics may not have been on board for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra but movie fans certainly were. The Channing Tatum flick is set to bring in an estimated $56.2 million at the North American box office this weekend. Worldwide, the take will be just over $100 million.

Meryl Streep and Amy Adams cooked up a winner in Julie & Julia. The Nora Ephron-written and directed comedy is expected to do $20.1 million in ticket sales for the three days.

Actor/stud Channing Tatum wowed the Today Show Friday while on the promotional trail for his latest flick, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.
He talked about his recent marriage to beauty Jenna Dewan, noting "Its been a crazy year -- the hits just keep coming." ((link to related post))
The handsome upstart action film star -- who said he owned all of the army-themed action figures as a kid -- said he put extra pressure on himself because "its my childhood, and I didn't want to mess it up."
The film hits theatres Friday, August 7.
