Tiger Woods shed new light on his personal problems in a press conference that was surprisingly frank at times yet still left many unanswered questions.
Ending speculation and shooting down some reports that his wife Elin would join him during the Masters, Tiger confirmed what RadarOnline.com reported days ago, saying: “Elin is not coming this week.”

Tiger did not elaborate on the current situation with Elin, but did open up about spending time in sex rehab and the mistakes he’s made.
The golfing legend said he spent 45 days in rehab, but when asked what he was treated for, he said: “That’s personal.”

As RadarOnline.com reported Tiger was at Gentle Path in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
“I was in there for 45 days to take a hard look at myself and I did,” Tiger said, adding that he is now a “much better person” and continuing treatment.

“I lied to myself and I lied to others,” Tiger admitted. “I’ve lied and deceived a lot of people.”
And in rare display of vulnerability, Tiger spoke about missing his son’s first birthday while in rehab. “I missed my son’s first birthday and that hurt,” he said. “And I vowed I won’t miss anymore.

“That hurts a lot. I can’t go back to where I was. It’s something I regret and probably will for the rest of my life.”
Tiger also revealed more information about the night he crashed his car and was taken to a hospital as his cheating scandal started to become public. He said he was taken to the hospital for a sore neck and five stitches in his lip. He denied any type of cover up when asked why he subsequently did not meet with police.

“I did everything to the letter of the law,” Tiger said.
He talked about spending Christmas with Elin and their two children and then going to rehab. Tiger admitted it’s been tough for his family to heal and get through this ordeal.

Elin is still not wearing her wedding ring and is at home in Orlando as Tiger makes his return to golf by playing in the Masters for the 16th time. They are living separately.
He refused to elaborate on the state of his marriage but did say one of the most difficult things he’s been through is “having to look at myself, how far I got away from my core morals.”

As Tiger Woods slowly repairs his shattered marriage, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that his wife Elin was talked out of filing divorce papers by her twin sister Josefin.
Elin hired an Orlando-area divorce attorney after Tiger’s secret serial cheating became public. As more and more mistresses came forward with their stories of sexual encounters with the golfer, Elin told her lawyer to prepare divorce papers and was ready to file.

But sources close to the situation tell RadarOnline.com that it was Josefin who convinced her sister to wait.

Elin and Josefin are extremely close emotionally and Josefin was able to persuade her to wait and not file the divorce papers while her emotions were raw, the sources revealed.

“Elin wanted to file right away,” a source told RadarOnline.com.
“She was devastated when the first mistress was revealed but when she realized he had betrayed her throughout the marriage she was furious and she wanted out.

“But Josefin has been by her side through ever crisis, and at every key moment during all of this.”
When Elin traveled to Gentle Path in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to participate in Tiger’s rehab therapy for a week, it was Josefin who came and stayed with the children.
“And when more and more women came forward, it was Josefin who told Elin not to file divorce papers out of anger – that she could always file them later,” the source said.
Josefin stressed the importance of doing what was best for the children but never tried to tell Elin her feelings were wrong or her emotions clouded, sources told RadarOnline.com.
Elin discovered Tiger’s affair with Rachel Uchitel on Thanksgiving and confronted him, leading to the golfer’s early morning car ride that end with him smashing into a tree. About a month later he entered rehab.
“When Tiger told Elin he really wanted to change and would do anything to save the marriage, it was Josefin who convinced her sister to give him a chance.”
Now Elin is preparing to move back home with Tiger, as first reported by RadarOnline.com. They have been spotted in recent days hugging and kissing outside, truly remarkable progress for a marriage that was on the brink.

UPDATE: Tiger Woods’ wife Elin landed in Orlando at approximately 8 pm EST.
After one week away from home, Tiger Woods’ wife was returning to Orlando Saturday, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
Tiger, Elin and their two children left home last Saturday and flew to Arizona. Tiger said during his televised apology that he was continuing his rehab.
Tiger’s plane left Arizona today and was in the air, headed back to Orlando at approximately 6 pm EST.
