EXCLUSIVE: Gary Collins Bikes To Meetings After Losing License In DUI Sentencing

Gary Collins isn’t taking any chances with the terms of his latest DUI sentencing agreement. Instead of getting behind the wheel, the 71-year-old TV actor biked 10 miles to a meeting; going all the way from Beverly Hills to Santa Monica, CA June 30, his ankle monitor clearly visible under one his left sock.
Collins has been charged with DUI three times. He was arrested but not convicted in his wife, former Miss America Mary Ann Mobley’s home state of Mississippi in 2002. He was busted on October 23, 2007 in Los Angeles in an accident that killed the 89-year-old driver of the other vehicle. Collins was found “not at fault” in the death and pled “no contest” to the DUI charges. He spent four days in jail, paid a $500 fine and was placed on four years probation.
That didn’t stop him from drinking and driving, however. On January 31, 2009, Collins was busted in Santa Barbara – this time for being under the influence while operating a motor home! Among the imposed penalties: Collins’ license was suspended for three years. All of which brings us to the bicycle being Collins’ preferred form of transportation.
Collins manager had “no comment” on where his client was peddling.
