The war of the roses between Frank and Jamie McCourt continues to worsen as their ill-will towards one another continues to affect the lives of their employees. On Thursday, Frank dismissed several key players on the Los Angeles Dodgers staff in a restructuring attempt to weed the organization of anyone with ties to his estranged wife Jamie.

“Even though some other people were let go, [the layoffs] were clearly targeting people who came from Boston [the Red Sox], worked with Charles [Steinberg, executive vice president/marketing and public relations] and were associated with Jamie,” a source said. Steinberg- who was courted by Jamie for his position with the Dodgers- had brought along former colleagues he had worked with in the past. Those individuals- public relations officers Mark Rogoff and Drew Merle, vice president of creative services Tom Catlin, graphics manager Courtney Cowsill, fan services and hospitality director Jahaan Blake, and supervisor of the Ambassadors program Alyssa Shuman- were all let go on Thursday.

Steinberg is a legend in the baseball world for his innovations in building the fan experience at games. As for the other employees who were let go, they also held impressive sports backgrounds with multiple world championships between them and a history of milestone consecutive sell outs- all things the Dodgers organization has been thirsting for.

“Good people were let go. Unfortunately they are now casualties of this situation,” the source added.

Thursday- the day of the layoffs brought on by Frank- was also when a Los Angeles Superior Court ruled that Jamie would not resume her former duties as a chief executive for the baseball team. Coincidence? Doubt it.
