Jennifer Hudson Family Murder Trial: William Balfour's DNA Not Found On Murder Weapon

The DNA of the man accused of killing actress Jennifer Hudson's family was not found on the murder weapon, a Chicago court heard Thursday.

Illinois State Police forensic scientist Pauline Gordon said she tested the .45-caliber pistol and found a limited amount of DNA belonging to a male, but admitted that it excluded William Balfour, according to the Detroit Free Press.

There appears to be yet another mystery in the Rebecca Zahau death case, involving an unknown set of footprints on the balcony that cops claimed Rebecca jumped to her death from, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting. Rebecca's family refuses to accept that she killed herself, and have asked authorities to re-open the case.

Rebecca’s naked body was found hanging from the balcony at her billionaire boyfriend Jonah Shacknai's mansion in Coronado, CA. (a suburb of San Diego), two days after his son, Max, 6, was found unconscious at the base of the stairs. Max later died from his injuries.

The Casey Anthony trial played out like an episode of CSI Wednesday as a forensic expert for the defense cast doubt on the prosecution's star witness.

Chemist Michael Sigman from the National Center for Forensic Science testified that the car belonging to Anthony did not test positive for decomposition. Air samples from the Florida mom's trunk contained mainly gasoline, although chloroform and two other chemicals were present.

The Casey Anthony trial played out like an episode of CSI Wednesday as a forensic expert for the defense cast doubt on the prosecution's star witness.

Chemist Michael Sigman from the National Center for Forensic Science testified that the car belonging to Anthony did not test positive for decomposition. Air samples from the Florida mom's trunk contained mainly gasoline, although chloroform and two other chemicals were present.

"I could not conclusively determine that the presence of those compounds indicated that there had been human remains in the trunk of that car," Sigman told jurors. He also said that chloroform is often found in bleach.
